So they favored small phones for years, now they're going all in on the phablet?

Why is there never a happy medium Apple?

Don't buy it. (As in, don't believe it, not don't purchase it :p). Force Touch is going to lead to a whole slew of ways to interact with phones. It wouldn't make any sense to gimp one half of your flagship duo like that and wouldn't encourage developers to implement force touch gestures. Doesn't make any sense.

Why be so upset?

We all know that the first version will not work anyways. iPhone 7 will have the properly working version.

Apple really dicked the consumers by only putting 1GB RAM in the iPhone 6. It's pretty much going to be the biggest bottleneck, and no way does 1GB RAM offer any comfort with longevity. As apps get larger and more resource-intensive (and optimised for the 6S which will likely have 2GB RAM), the IP6 is going to falter.

Reminds me of the iPhone 4. Beautiful phone at the time, but the single-core processor made it unuseable after a few OS revisions. I fear a similar thing will happen.

Ugh, that would be so dumb. Developing for three different screen sizes is one thing...but having your app literally feel different on one device is going to suck as a developer.

Developers just won't use it. It needs to work on more then 1 device. Its like the landscape view on the iPhone 6 Plus no developer really uses it for anything but a game because its only on the i 6 Plus.

We are a long way off from September, but I was bummed when I heard Apple was not going to include the supposedly revolutionary dual camera in the upcoming iPhone 6. At first rumors said it was, and then now no.

I'm sure news will ping pong back and forth for the next 6 months. So there's still hope. I use my iPhone mainly as my travel camera, and any news about an upgrade to that feature always piques my interest.

Interesting, if true. Not enough new tech to entice me to upgrade from my current 6+ though. I'll wait for the 7+.

The only thing I really want is more RAM, it is painfully obvious on my 6+ that it needs more but that won't get me to upgrade before the next "big" revisions come out in the 7 or whatever it will be.

This is going to be just like when they released the iPhone 6 Plus with a sapphire screen and only released the iPhone 6 with ion-x glass.

Oh wait...

Not always the case though. The 5s was the first to have the fingerprint reader and it has worked wonderfully with the few exceptions at least for me. :)

Never understood why bigger models should have better tech (unless it's something hear related like dedicated graphics on a 15" mbp). Some of us want the top of the line without the super-sizing. Hell, a 4" model with high end tech would be my choice, but at the very least keep the 4.7 on par with the 5.5

That's ridiculous if true. Thankfully, I'm sure the normal sized iPhone 7 will have it, and being on a 2 year upgrade cycle, that's when I'll be upgrading anyways.

I think it's just the haptic feedback they are talking about. Probably makes sense limiting this to the bigger device, because of the needed size for the actuator and the accompanied battery drain.

That is the haptic feedback like in the Macbook's Trackpad, feeling button presses and that stuff. Not the Apple Watch's kind of Taptic Engine which lets you feel little sensations on your wrist.

Force Touch (pressure sensitivity) will come to all of Apples touch devices obviously.

This is going to be the case regardless, since there are a ton of ios devices that will still exist without force touch.

Sure, and that can't be helped - plus it's a reason to upgrade. But you don't build a major interface difference into the product line when moving forward. Or at least I wouldn't.

I want Apple to certify clothing that is "Made for iPhone Plus." Maybe just normal whatever with a cargo pocket sewn on.

Why not differentiate the 6S Plus further by including a stylus with it. Then change the name to iPhone 6S Pro.

Jeez. The 6 Plus is just TOO BIG. I admit the big screen is nice to look at, but shove the thing in your pocket and it's like you have a brick in your pants, and not in a good way.

Features like this should NEVER be tied to a screen size. Some people prefer smaller devices and shouldn't have to miss out because of that.

They want a reason to charge you an extra $100.
