That's BS Waymo is way ahead in the autonomous driving space, atm their only real competitor is Tesla & they're a notch below IMO. What Uber did, with the former Waymo employee, was arguably much worse than this guy & they rightfully paid for it.

Waymo LMAO

ahead of Tesla?
- cost of all that hardware on all those vehicles is expensive, very expensive by comparison - not better/winnin there.
- pre-mapping a route and having the Waymo vehicle follow bread-crumbs is NOT autonomous driving in any stretch of the word.

This is not being better in any way.

SHow me pure non-premapped real autonomous driving in a waymo vehicle!!

It could also have been a threat that made him do it. He is a pawn and we do not know who’s behind everything.

It would be pretty cool if the apple car is a truck, as in automated delivery system.

Maybe a driverless taxi service that you subscribe for. Free rides for a monthly fee or something.

I’m sure they have great plans, but the automotive market is a hard cutthroat market. I don’t even dare to speculate on the price of a apple car. Some people speculate that it’ll be out in 2050 - that’s about when I can afford one.

I read two news on this article
1. Apple is indeed developing an autonomous car
2. It’s been 8 years and still no sign of any product. As a comparison Tesla took 5 years to develop from scratch and launch its first car. 20 years later it has a complete lign of products, giga factory in various part of the world and model 3 / Y are best sellers in many countries. They didn’t have the means of Apple
Meanwhile Tesla is slowly falling behind its competition due to lack of innovation, Apple is still successfully selling hundreds of thousands of iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Watches, Macs, and media through apps, Apple Music, Apple Fitness, and Apple TV.

What's BS? I was talking about revenue, not how advanced the tech is nor what's morally right or wrong. Go check how much the Phoenix taxi service has been pulling in, and compare that with the massive Levandowski and Uber settlements. Apple's division has no public product or service yet so zero revenue (which I doubt is much less than Waymo's, to be honest), but already pulling in money thanks to similar (though smaller-scale) lawsuits.

The fact that you added "Not to be racist" shows that you knew this message could be interpreted as being racist. :)

"I'm not racist, BUT...." is a very typical way of being racist. :)

I can see from your profile picture that you're a visible minority as well. Is it really funny to stigmatise other minorities? Have you not suffered from racism and stigmatization in your life time? Or do you think it's ok as long as the joke is not at your expense? :)

Laughing at Jian Yang while watching Silicon Valley is not the same thing as what you have done here. You went a step further and connected the dots just because the IP thief mentioned in the article is alleged to be Chinese. So it's ok to easily generalize and imply that all Chinese people are copycats? :)

Give it a :)
