Somehow the thought of FB and it’s majority stockholders making less money just really doesn’t matter that much to me. Am I crazy?
Yeah, it’s called mainly primal, ruthless, testosterone fueled greed and exploitation. We could use way less of it. It’s slavery in modern form.I’ve seen how some VC backed startups use consumer data and in many cases it’s somewhere between unethical and criminal. Let’s face the facts. Many of the startups are under a tremendous pressure to gain market share or meet whatever target the investors have set. Therefore, many startups use every possible way to reach their target audience. They use the tools but don’t ask if it’s ethical or even legal. In all honesty, many of highest value startups have been known to operate avoiding taxes etc. responsibilities, some even outright breaking the law. So, tracking consumers is somewhat in their DNA. Hell, Suckerberg is inspiration to many of those guys anyway...
If you’re talking about user-to-user privacy, there’s 4chanIt would be amazing if a new social media with anonymity in mind - hence privacy - became the new standard.
This. People - and more importantly Facebook - seem to think that with 14.5 that ALL ad-tracking will BLOCKED It won't. It just gives people the option. I'm gonna bet that 90% of every day users are going to see that pop up - get confused - not understand it - and just tap "Yes" so they can get through to Facebook. There is no guarantee that most users won't allow personalized ad-tracking. Most people simply don't care about whether they're ad-tracked or not.
Emphasis on “user-to-user” privacy regarding 4chan, which is on the back-end wide open to tracking from any and all intelligence agencies and is likely an intentional honey pot, thus it’s inability to be shut down despite all it’s controversies over the years. If you’re talking about user-to-user privacy, there’s 4chan

Clubhouse and social media CEOs in a nutshell. They want to destroy your mental health and then get you addicted. Then they force their investment ideas on you which are all forms of Ponzi schemes that make them rich and make you into a dumb slave dreaming of becoming rich on internet magic beans that consume all the electricity in the world and encourage more crimes.Yeah, it’s called mainly primal, ruthless, testosterone fueled greed and exploitation. Talked to my GF on the phone about earwax, and all the sudden I get earwax ads on facebook.
Creepy af.
oh....no...........bruh same thing happens to a lot of people lately! It is creepy!!
It starts by using full words to describe things n not wanting to follow cliques to be cool or with an in crowd. Then missing out isn’t such a big deal.Free yourself and delete your account. Its liberating. You may have FOMO for a fee days, before realising the only things you are missing out on are stupid memes and micro drama.
And no Twitter.I think the world would be a better place with less tracking and no Facebook.

But then Facebook would say that the vast majority of iOS users think Facebook is number 1.Instead of a simple Yes or No choice, can Apple add a middle finger response to this question?![]()
I am OK with this type of advertising. When I am at a role playing game site, I actually click on some of the ads because they are ads for games that look like they might be interesting.I hope this will bring companies back to targeted media that has targeted audience.
Rhymes with "Zucked"?Yes get ****ed FB!
I've seen this a few times... something I only discussed (not searched for) appearing in ads (e.g. holiday spots)... if there is some audio monitoring going on you'd think someone would blow the whistle as this would be a *major* story and give said whistleblower at least 15 minutes of fame to monetize.Did you buy the wax from the Ad 😂. Then Facebook will send another ad. You can save 5% if you subscribe for auto shipment. Lol.
Ok but don’t pretend it’s your main reason for fighting Apple over this implementation. Sure make a profit but be truthful with the reasons and methods to do itAs is every companies responsibility is to care about the bottom line. Facebook care about their bottom line using advertising amongst other things. Apple claims to care about privacy because it helps their bottom line, e.g. consumers believe that and buy into their ecosytem. Trust me, no company cares about the little guy at the expense of their bottom line.
AND... Everything is imagecrafted. Everything. My own sister posts tons of crap on Facebook and I know that her life is far, far different from the crap she posts. Everything is sunshine and lollipops in her posts and pictures.Grandparents love FaceBook. Their children post the grand-babies on FB and grandma and grandpa lap it up. I tell my wife FB is evil but she just stares at me. LOL
