Personally, I thought this M1 promotion by Apple is more pathetic:

Well, I didn't see that.
While still fairly pathetic, at least Apple is being coherent to a format that established years ago with the "I'm a mac" commercials.
Intel having to resort to the mac actor for a similar "PC Is better" is quite honestly even more pathetic...

I'm not defending the mac world, as I use also windows machines, but Intel paid the price of bathing in its own success avoiding to innovate expecting the competition to never reach them...
And we see the results...
Between the AMD revolution and the increasingly popular ARM chips, I don't see a bright future for Intel...

Nahhh, the Mac is a dead system walking. Anyone seriously interested in a touchscreen is already deep into the iPad if they like Apple products. The Mac will stay around as a very low sales workhorse primarily in professional areas (FCPX, Logic Pro) and for iOS and macOS code development.
What are you on about? Mac is still very popular growing to this day. They are very popular amongst school/university students

This is hilarious... and of course it shows a desperate and lame attempt by Intel to discredit Apple's M1... But I notice how they focus on every aspect of a PC that has little to do with the CPU, with only a passing comment that the PC has Intel "nice!"... I guess we wait until Apple comes out with it's more professional level CPU/SoC.... and then we wait until Microsoft decides to also go ARM.

Popular, yes. Growing, well, we’ll have to see. There was an uptick on the release of M1 models but, other than that, they’ve stagnated at somewhere less than 20 million for the last several years. They may break that this year, but we’ll know when that happens.

Justin Long is a "professional" actor, i.e., he earns his living by acting, more so in the pandemic. As he was paid handsomely by Apple, he is now getting paid by Intel. So what the fuss is about!
Indeed I mean the hyperbole wow. Now one can criticize Intel's ad and refute their arguments but certainly I would not be upset. I would laugh if this guy was seen with an iPhone or using a Macbook outside somewhere or in a cafe once this covid thing passes.

Sure thing. You can work as a prostitute/escort – and I do something that is paid less.
prostitute/escort too is a "sex worker". You may not like the job, but do not disrespect others like those who sell cigarettes in Walgreens, weed shops, gambling sites, etc.

Coming soon... AMD hires Ellen Feiss for their next commercial...

🤣

Poor grandpa Intel trying to be hip digging up a 12 year old add campaign to get with the times when they are being pounded by AMD. Surprised they didnt get Bootsy Collins to do the soundtrack and say something like 'can you dig it' because digging is all they are doing.

OMG I just listened to an episode of Justin Long's podcast from last summer with Julie Bowen. They were talking about dating, she said Justin had always had a girlfriend, then he said he'd been single for two years. Julie acted astonished to learn this and said something like "Why? What's going on? Are you an Intel now?!" She's prophetic.

I agree. And that's what I'm hearing from others. People thought they'd be great but quickly found they weren't and they didn't really use the features offered.
Yeah. Somewhere there's a survey floating around that shows very few Windows users with touch-screen devices actually still use the touch features a year later.

Anyone find it utterly INSANE, that Intel, having just slapped Apple in the face by turning Justin Long into an Intel-whore, now turns around and says maybe they'll be a provider of Apple's ARM processors? If I were Apple, I'd be laughing so hard, I'd fall outta my chair, roll on the floor awhile, and pass out from the lack of oxygen! 😆

Nah. Lots and lots of corporate executives are petty, emotionally-driven, and grudge holding. They're not on the Fortune 500 list though.

Apple buys displays from Samsung while suing their pants off. Back in the day they locked horns with Microsoft constantly, marketed hardcore against them, while also entering into development agreements to produce Office: Mac and bring Internet Explorer to Mac OS / Mac OS X.

If you want to be as successful as Apple in business you can't hold a grudge. You have to make the decision that makes the most sense for your business and for your customers every single time.

Since Apple is no longer an Intel customer; their best business interest is to shift their marketing against Apple as a chip competitor. They also know that if they produce chip fab processes that can beat TSMC, it'll be in Apple's best business interests to use them.

Apple HAS held some grudges before, under Steve Jobs. But under Tim Cook, I doubt very much we'll see "You can produce the same chip for a little less; saving us billions over a production run while also producing the chips in the United States satisfying lawmakers vying for more tech production stateside? NU UH NO WAY YOU WERE A MEANIE FACE DOO DOO HEAD THAT ONE TIME."

Tell that to nvidia.

I called it! Apple should have locked him up with a wad of cash to stop him from advertising for Intel, in perpetuity. But here we are.
