Excellent framing. I love the rich feeling of the sky.Very interesting photos, Dale. The depth of field used for the shells is just right, and the framing is also good to capture the shadow and surrounding areas. Here is my latest B&W taken last month while on a road trip through New Mexico... there was a huge storm system that stretched from Canada to Mexico, and we were right at the edge of it. Shiprock (the large volcanic formation shown below) is visible from quite some distance. This is currently my desktop background:

Nice use of line in this photo. The curved lines keep your eye moving.
Nice details and textures. I'm not really sure about the cropping of the white rope at the top right. I want to either see more or less of it.This one is a bit older, but I'm really proud of how it turned out. I originally shot it on my Yashica 35 GSN on Velvia 100F while waiting for the Miyajima ferry to take us back to mainland Japan. I converted it to B&W using Silver Efex 2. I can't get enough of how awesome photos turn out using that program! You can control everything you want on it.
The original, in colour, is available on my Flickr, if you're at all interested.

Love the details here. Good use of a wide angle lens. Here is another from the same trip:

Great shot. Love how the b&w really make the different colours in the layers of rock stand out. There's a bit of halo between the ridge lines and the sky- is that natural?
I thought I'd share this scene I came upon while wandering the streets of ilina. It was a powerful sight with this statue overlooking the square below with a mini-futbol game in play. Critiques welcome.
Dale, thank you for the kind comments. Here's another one:

Tried something different. Not sure that I'm happy with the pic or the post processing.
Nice details and textures. I'm not really sure about the cropping of the white rope at the top right. I want to either see more or less of it.
Lone hiker in foggy weather.
My favourite subject to convert to b/w. If that's even necessary, since the
original also has almost no colour in it. I admit it's an older one, but it matches the challenge. (and I like it)
Perhaps more of the same, after this weekend ( promises are foggy weather!)

I finally had a chance to get something in here. With autumn colors peaking, B&W is not on my mind right now. This was taken before the colors were strong enough to stand out, so B&W seemed more appropriate.

Great idea for the photo. I'd put forth that if there was an angle that made the statue seem even larger and more dominant like it was really watching over the whole seen then that would make it even more interesting.
