In other news today, nobody cares about Fortnite anymore and have moved on to better games.
Now over to Dave with with the weather…
Hmm I’d say otherwise. Fortnite is doing pretty good on Twitch so no it’s not dead ?. And besides single player games can only be played for so long…

aw hell no. I want videogames to go back to single player on devices experience with low lag, no skips and no dependency on internet to even start a game. I dont want to play in a toxicity of multiplayer content. that should be a seperate content but i hope to God its not the future of gaming because gaming was always about immersion into characters not playing randoms online for a quick release
I'm pretty sure latency, which is the main complaint about cloud gaming, will be resolved by the time Sony and Microsoft decided to go full cloud.

I used xcloud for a while but it was at too laggy to be enjoyable unfortunately.

Might try it again if this improves in my area.
Side Question : Is a nintendo switch a fun gaming experience?
Yes! A Nintendo Switch is a great system, as long as you're looking for Nintendo games like Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, etc. It's great to be able to switch from handheld mode to TV mode just by dropping it into the dock.

People have moved on. I'll try to explain that to my nephew I play with that also still plays it with his friends. Now I can play with him via my iPad again.

Sorry Epic the Fortnite kids are four years older now and they moved on to more grown up games like Elden Ring and you’ll find that the next gen kids will play something else. Fortnite is old now.
Fortnite:
- 3+ years old
- 125k viewers on Twitch right now

Ended Ring:
- 3 months old
- 46k viewers on Twitch

Very different games, but if you make a silly claim, expect a silly response.

I don’t get all the hate for Epic games. It’s a fun game, it’s free. The over $100 million they sent to different charity groups and UN reliefs in April, that’s pretty insane really.

The hate is because they sued Apple, which they have a right to do under the law. Also, if the outcome is successful in favor of Fortnite it is for the benefit of all users, but most Apple fans fail to see that.

So should we call this sidestreaming?

Honestly it's nauseating to think that that this will allow users to enjoy an experience that hasn't been given a glance by the technical and content reviewers of the App Store. It just feels unsafe based on everything I've read from Apple's marketers and lawyers.

Agree wholeheartedly. Apparently cloud streaming only works via Safari. Any other browser suggestions since Apple is now shipping malware?

xcloud is handy to try a game before downloading it to your xbox, the best part is your save file carries over.

Being that Fortnite is a competitive online multiplayer game, I can't imagine that cloud services are an acceptable way to play. Has anyone tried this service?

Can’t speak to MS’s service but GeForce Now works pretty good. The free tier is crappy but the paid tier is almost on par with the native iOS version. Sometimes there are latency issues but I’ve gotten plenty of Victory Royales.

Fortnite is a fun time killer but I mostly use GeForce Now for my Steam library. I have a few games that my M1 MacBook Air just can’t handle, and it’s nice to be able to play on my laptop when I’m on the go. Works good 99% of the time… especially single player games. Worth the 20 bucks a month imo.

cloud gaming will be the future.
Not until internet infrastructure really improves. I have gigabit and can tell the input lag is there. I’m not even in to competitive gaming but I play everything at 144 or 240hz and there is a massive delay with my inputs with cloud gaming.

Imagine thinking a game is dead just because it's not on iOS anymore, lol... Fortnite is being played now more than ever, with the introduction of Chapter 3. But you wouldn't know, you just think iOS is the only platform that matters.

If you have a solid internet connection it’s just as good as playing it on your phone. Granted I haven’t played fortnite since they sued apple so I can’t say how it is specifically but games like forza and halo were pretty good on the platform. Especially when connected to ethernet on the Mac

LOL...Microsoft testified on behalf of Epic in their failed lawsuit concerning Fortnite/App Store. It's all so contrived.
