aw hell no. I want videogames to go back to single player on devices experience with low lag, no skips and no dependency on internet to even start a game. I dont want to play in a toxicity of multiplayer content. that should be a seperate content but i hope to God its not the future of gaming because gaming was always about immersion into characters not playing randoms online for a quick release
Game has gone to ****. Glad to have at least experienced the golden age of gaming. Once multiplayer became the big thing that was it.

No matter what people say Cloud Gaming is the future. Hardware will be a thing of the past. The fact that Apple doesn’t allow game streaming apps on their platform is the lamest thing I’ve ever seen. All because of their Apple Arcade.

If they add more games to Xbox Cloud this benefits both iOS and Mac users. Play any Xbox or PC game anytime any Mac, any iPad, etc. I don’t get why people are fussy about it. ?‍♂️
They do allow streaming games - Apple just specified that each title needs to be listed individually in the App Store to allow things like parental controls, monetisation, game discovery in the App Store to work. Games streaming services said "that's too hard".

No, just pointing out that's capitalization 13 years old use in social networks when others state facts that's not true. Here the point you're making is not something that "trolls" would do, but the reality is that Apple has indeed banned GamePass / xbox in the cloud as a video game service from their devices. That's not a troll´s point. It is an actual fact.
They actually didn't ban cloud services. Apple said cloud services are fine if each title is listed separately on the App Store to allow discovery, monetisation and parental controls to works. Streaming services thought that was too hard. That's the actual facts.

Are you saying that it is reasonable to ask Microsoft or Sony or whatever list all PC game titles on the App Store? If Apple is serious about this requirement, then Apple is banning cloud ssrvices.

Even if they did that it would be inferior to the experience in Safari. Having to "download" each individual game is not a practical equivalent.

Apple dropped the ball when it came to gaming. They wanted to compete with Apple Arcade but lets be real here. Once Cloud Gaming becomes the norm and you have access to all your console games anywhere at anytime, would anyone want Apple arcade? Imagine Nintendo also joining the cloud gaming market? Mario on any device.
Are you serious? Apple is the largest gaming market by far and eclipses MS, Sony, Blizzard and Activision combined. In 2020 Apple made 13.5B in the gaming segment whilst MS, Sony, Activision and Blizzard made $6.8B. This was revealed in the Epic Court case. The Mobile gaming market is increasing all whilst console and PC gaming market is shrinking.

Apple is moving to where the market is going - mobile and AR/ VR....not where it's been. If people can't seen this, then they'll be blindsided by Apple, yet again.

“Industry global revenue from videogames is expected to almost double to $198 billion in 2024 compared with 2016, according to estimates by technology consulting firm Activate Inc. The biggest chunk of that growth is from mobile games, which Activate predicts will generate $103 billion in 2024."

That's not what I said at all. What I said was cloud services are allowed but each of those titles in the cloud service's catalogue needs to be listed individually on the App Store and not contained in a "store within a store".

It's a trivial matter - each app is just a wrapper for said game. But, the cloud services don't want to do that because they want to collect the 30% instead of giving it to Apple.

That's a business decision by the streaming services...not a ban by Apple.

Do you seriously think this requirement is reasonable? If yes, then this requirements should also apply to music streaming, video streaming, ebooks... What is the actual difference between cloud gaming service vs. other streaming services?

In the way, this unreasonable requirement is ban.

The difference is, Games are not music, movies or books. Games are interactive content; music, movies and books are passively consumed.

I know that you're looking for reasons to blame Apple, but maybe you should direct your ire at the streaming services who didn't want their games listed in the App Store?

Yeah, think that man…Apple knows that just not feasible so they gave that excuse hoping people would buy. Judging by your comments it worked to some extent. What’s next, Netflix and Disney + submitting each movie on their service so Apple can review?

The streamed software runs in its own remotely. Can’t interact with anything else on your phone. The only thing they’re protecting is revenue from their own inferior services. Anyone with just a tiny bit of common sense can understand that.

Very different games, but if you make a silly claim, expect a silly response.
You have an odd obsession with citing twitch as some kind of validation gauge. Most people don’t spend time on it. In fact in the grand scheme it has been declining.

Do you even know how cloud gaming even work?

Cloud gaming is a separate concept from single/multiplayer gaming. It only means that the CPU/GPU processing of the game takes place on a server, which is streamed over the internet to your computer. So you don't need a powerful PC to play demanding games, just a fast and stable internet connection.
