apple spending billions on lawyer fee against epic games instead of improving their AI that's about 5 years behind
You know that games can be supported for many years, right? They can be expanded upon, patched, new features…almost like whatever software you’re using to write this post.It got a solid one star. Having to download 16 gig of junk to play a decade old game is really pathetic. Best yet, they can't do math because the percentage downloaded doesn't match the data shown on the screen. 3.1/4.29 <> 0.54

I never ask or wanted any of the things you described. I was very happy when apple was apple.Yeah so far they have won nothing and just made judges everywhere angry with their non compliance.
We have USB-C, we have alternative app stores, we have switching of default apps (and a lot more is coming), we have alternative payment methods, we have links to to website to buy, we have open browser engine in the EU, they can't charges fees on external purchases and soon they will have to open up NFC, airpod connect and watch functionality too in the EU ...
What did they win? US, UK and EU are not going to walk back laws, especially after their behaviour. Also developers will revolt as well once they are used to all those new methods that are just in effect.
They lost, and they know it otherwise Fortnite wouldn't be back with 'no comment'![]()
I typed in F, and the second suggestion was Fortnite, right after Facebook. After tapping the suggestion, Fortnite was the first app listed. It also allowed the purchase via Face ID.If you search the term 'Fortnite', you have to scroll and scroll and scroll down to find it. Apple REALLY doesn't want you to find it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love it!
EDIT: Oh, and they are making you type in your Apple password, instead of being able to just double click the side button on the iPhone. 🤣
You're absolutely right. It's 20 years too long. Two decades too long.
Apple had originally requested that Epic resubmit it without the U.S. App Store.I am not a developer, but my understanding is each developer account gets to select which stores it offers its app in. So multiple stores, but as long as Epic Sweden is following the rules, Apple can’t tell them “you’re not allowed to submit in the US store” unless they change it so no developer can submit from outside their own store, which is clearly not workable.
Appreciate any corrections from those more knowledgeable
Greedy software developers are raising prices on video games for consumers. Can you be mad at that or nahh? Its cool when THEY do it but Apple has to reduce their fee?Two decades too long.
How much does Apple get for all those free apps riddled with ads and forced videos? You're absolutely right. It's 20 years too long.
20 years too long that Apple's given developers a safe, successful place to distribute their apps. 20 years too long that Apple has given developers the tools & resources to build their apps.
All for free I might add.
Without Apple 90% of these developers wouldn't exist.

Right. I’m not sure what the basis would be for disallowing it back onto the App Store if it is fully compliant with current rules.im sorry but apple have state under oath they where willing to let Fortnite back on the store if it followed all the rules.
And currently links outside the store with 0% commission is legal.
it's neither my or Epics fault apple made binding commitments or be slapped with perjury.
30% is ridiculous for being a middleman collecting cash. It was a new and novel idea in 2008 but by some point made less sense. And yet that 30% has been around for two decades now, so....
And you can choose not to use those things. In fact, you can get a USB-C to Lightning adapter.I never ask or wanted any of the things you described. I was very happy when apple was apple.
Give it a week. Tim Sweeney is probably already preparing a lawsuit claiming 1-star ratings are part of Apple’s anti-competitive agenda…
So get an android and hack away to your hearts content.I don't even play video games, and yes I can be.
..that said, Apple is the middleman here. I don't need them to stand between me and companies I want to do business with.
What about refunds? Want about stolen credit cards? What about having access to billions of possible customers?30% is ridiculous for being a middleman collecting cash. It was a new and novel idea in 2008 but by some point made less sense.
I agree some overhead is needed, probably bigger than the 3% a credit card company takes, but 30% is egregious. The reduction for subscriptions is nowhere near enough also as 15% is still a ripoff.
It was easy money for Apple/Google and now they're getting called out for it.
Based on my 14 and 11 yos reactions to the news, it’s done.Honestly though, hasn’t Fortnite peaked? I mean is it still the powerhouse game it was or has it faded? I honestly don’t know. What I do know is that my Gamer friends never talk about it, one actively hates it, and it really only gets talked about in these articles about the lawsuit
So I ask again, how popular is it really?
Yeah, but the money grab days are over! And yet that 30% has been around for two decades now, so....
I love software that can do math. 😀You know that games can be supported for many years, right? They can be expanded upon, patched, new features…almost like whatever software you’re using to write this post.
Not all for free, actually.20 years too long that Apple's given developers a safe, successful place to distribute their apps. 20 years too long that Apple has given developers the tools & resources to build their apps.
All for free I might add.
