Today's "event" brought over 5000 simultaneous users to the forums, short of the record of 5890 but a heavy load nevertheless.

I hope forum server performance was OK for most users.

Lots and lots of "Our forum server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later." messages... including now when I was trying to answer to this thread... 🙄
 
I gave up trying to get into the forums due to the constant 'Server busy' messages, and have only just really been able to get back in.
 
Yep...forum performance was pretty bad today. Still getting a fair number of busy messages two hours after the end of the event and we're down under 3500 users online.

I don't mean to pile on...you guys do a fantastic job with the site. No one can stand up to the crush of Apple fans.

nah, it's time... next time for an event, we'll try to have a spare server to try to handle the additional load.

In spite of the problems - which I had a chance to enjoy - I was extremely grateful for the coverage and comments on the event.
