On the mobile homepage of the site, wasn’t there a dedicated button to go to the forum? Now you have to click menu or profile and then click forum to get here. My flow is always “go to MacRumors, read all articles, go to forum, read new posts”. I really miss the forum button!
At present you do need two taps.

Sorry about that

Yeah it looks like you can either use the menu button or the chat box icon (or your avatar if logged in). Using the latter will give you a few useful links.

I tried requesting the desktop version as well, and turning into landscape mode. It does look like iPads do get the normal layout you expect.

I didn’t like the new drop down menu when tapping my avatar but I’ve actually grown to like it. If possible give users the option to keep it please if there are plans to remove it.

I could be misremembering things, but it seems like my drafts aren't being saved as long as they used to. There have been a few instances where I started typing a reply to a post, but didn't post it yet, and it's gone a couple of days later. It seems like they used to stick around longer than that. How long are drafts saved, and did anything change with that?

We didn’t change it on purpose. But I see it’s set to 24 hours right now. I’ve bumped it to a week.

Does it not save between browser sessions?
I have to re-select the option every time I login. I think the preference might be saved in the site's cookies instead of account preferences since I see it stick just now when I tried viewing this site not in private browsing.

Ya, it's cookie based at this time.

I noticed yesterday that I can not view the comments of certain articles. The recent "Time Cook warned by CIA..." is one of the articles. I can read the article, but not view the comments.

You have the Political News forum blocked. That forum preference used to only apply to the Politics, Religion, Social Issues forum that no longer exists, so we recently updated the preference to cover the political-related forum that still exists, Political News. You can uncheck the relevant box in your forum preferences if you wish to see the Political News forum and its threads.

It’s back. Banner ad across bottom of screen. iPhone 15 pro, iOS 26.3, safari:
Curiously, I don’t experience it on my iPad mini, iOS 18.5

Are you logged into your forum account on these devices? That eliminates the bottom ad.

In the meanwhile, you can do an advanced search:

Choose your username and choose "Older than" date. If I put 01/01/2002, I can see my way old posts.
Will you be bringing back the ability to search a user's post to the beginning? I sometimes remember a conversation with a specific user and a time frame for the convo but maybe not a specific keyword to search (invariably my memory uses a word that is just slightly off, like remembering the wrong camera brand or something). Being able to see all their posts is helpful.

I just noticed today that the small blue arrows that appear on the bottom/right of a page which when clicked/tapped take you to the top or bottom of the page, have disappeared.

I'll see about getting them back. I think they were causing some stutter scrolling issues

It's a little of both. the stutter fix made them less reliable (sometimes wouldn't appear). so I just turned them off in meanwhile. I can revisit.

No worries. I'll happily take forum performance over features.

Lots of ads or a big gap where the ad should be are now showing up and I don't have the arrows at the bottom that would jump you back to the top of the page.

Using the latest version of Chrome: Version 146.0.7680.76 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Ok buttons are back. But don’t hide anymore (still related to the scrolling issue)

Also down arrow works better. Takes you to last post.
