A new version of Tweetie just came out.. Still triggers the 330M....
this is common knowledge no?
So after the recent update to 10.6.4 I've noticed some odd things. I use some customizable options in Finder, such as using a Background picture to organize my Movies nicely and normally it should look like this:
![]()
But now it looks like this:
![]()
until the nvidia chip gets activated. Is there any way to set the chip to activate when the folder opens?
![]()
(pardon my cluttered menubar)
I suggest restarting Finder, and if that doesn't work try rebooting. This is a very odd problem.
I don't think that there's a way that you can make it switch to the NVIDIA chip when you open a certain folder.

Could you please let me know what program this is?
It's FinderIf you go into the folder options menu, you can select a background image for the folder, there are various types of Book Shelves available around. And the Movie images I made my self in photoshop (i.e. found really large posters and set it to a certain width x height) and just changed the icons for the movie files and removed their file type.
Dont wanna bring up a dead thread but has anyone found out the gpuswitch numbers do? I was going to try to set the switching according battery/power because Energy Saver wont let you and last time I had gfxcardstatus it wouldnt remember the settings after a restart.
Not sure of their significance as of yet. Have you tried gfxCardStatus recently? I bumped it to v2.0 a couple weeks ago which should fix the preferences issues you might have been experiencing with v1.8.x.
Wouldn't be surprised. On battery power the 9400m in my 13" MBP struggles with OS animations too.
