In my humble opinion google glass, although was never really released to the masses was way too overpriced (at one point it was $1300), created controversy with regards to privacy of folks you interact, and legislation was rapidly setup to deter or prohibit google glass usage while operating motorized vehicles. It just seemed google glass was really doomed from the start more so than a poorly executed concept that didn't solve customers problems.

Apple watch is in a whole different realm than google glass. It doesn't solve my problems, but it provides easier solutions to common occurrences on my iPhone. That convenience and other functionality at the $399 price point tickled my fancy, as it has many others here and in the real world. The current apple watch release period should be considered a monumental success over google glass even directly compared to the entirety of the google glass project. That's not a knock against google glass at all though, that was a lofty project going places technology has never been for folks who weren't quite ready to be taken there yet.
