That's because he was the only non legit leak, all the rest were most like Apple controlled leaks, and yes they will do that.

And no, they won't. My word against yours. Main difference: I work in the mobile phone industry. You don't.

I'm assuming these were purchase to sell pictures to sites like this and to resell to accessory manufactures to help with their cases. Something that would still take place if the iPhones were made in the USA.

My thought process was more along the reverse-engineering line of thought and not the leaking perspective.

Dear Foxconn

If you paid your workers more they would tell anyone who asks them to steal to go **** themselves. They would value the secrecy.

It's not just about wages but culture. Not even the Chinese government gives a rats hole about the IP rights of non Chinese companies.

Good catch, about time Foxconn put a stop to this corporate thefts.

Yes, absolutely! Put that poor bastard into jail!

Now can we have more Mac rumours please? Where are all the leaked parts in blurry photos of the next iPad, 12" MacBook Pro etc.? Bring 'em on!

Ouch, Chinese prison...........

I gotta say that’s a bit harsh. You can steal over here and just lose your job, unless you run a bank in which case they let you go with a pay off and you move to the next one.

So not 1 of the 100,000 Americans putting togeather iPhones at crappy wages wouldn't of been able to have sneaked out with some shells and sold them to a high bidder?

This is bound to happen when you have 100,000 workers doing something, and btw I am pretty positive America has much more strict laws restricting intensive searches than China does when it comes to factory work.

As for work policy of specific companies, I am not too sure, I know a lot of retail stores in UT do it, especially clothing stores. But as for the law, your 4th Amendment SHOULD protect (that's not always the case).

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

And FYI, "suspicion" or a "hunch" isn't probable cause for any law enforcement officer to do a search/seizure of your persons without consent.

I think his actions were instrumental in creating a "must have" frenzy for the iPhone 6 and as a result, the record 4M sales figure.

If anything, I think the guy should be rewarded with 1 YEN per iPhone sold. Write it off under "advertising costs".

What possible good would Japanese currency do him in China?

I suspect they are going to make one hell of an example out of this guy.....

If devices like this were made in America, every component would have been uploaded to Instagram, with the employee holding it in a selfie.

It pretty much was, minus the selfie.

Sites like Macrumors create the demand for this kind of leak. Personally I hate having to sift through countless pictures of iPhone camera modules, home buttons, rear shells and all that nonsense just to find the one or two interesting Apple-related stories.

Whatever happens to this guy is down to Macrumors and other parasitic sites.

If devices like this were made in America, where checks are thorough, security is tighter and corporate espionage/knockoffs aren't as prominent perhaps this wouldn't have happened. Perhaps.

You're right.

Engineers would just accidentally leave the prototypes at bars, before it even reached mass production.

About freaking time.

Punishment should be severe for compromising trade secrets and security!

If you can imagine the effort and time it takes to clamp down on security and then one weasel smuggles things out and completely nullify's the effort.

Isn't it a shame that even top people in Apple are not privy to the product's details and then this guy sneaks this out and is posing for pictures holding the iPhone like a street vendor?

How is everybody on hear figuring that significantly raising the wages of tens or hundreds of thousands of workers would only result in at most $100 price increase on the final product? Also moving everything to the US would mean all the parts of the supply chain wouldn't be down the road costing even more in the construction.

I actually think the price would only go up slightly if there wasn't such cheap labor however the specs of the product would go down drastically.

Then why are you on these forums, trying to get any bits of info before an official launch?
