Are we expecting these to be just like the Apple bumpers? The picture leads me to believe that it will be a cheap knockoff. But there is a note at the bottom that they will be getting the "original" bumpers and selling them for $9.99.

The first batch of free bumper cases will be shipped out on Weds the 14th. These folks should receive their cases 3-4 days after.
I will also have the original bumper case (that has the silver buttons on the side) in 1-2 weeks for sale at $9.99. This is way better than paying $29 from Apple.

Unless I misunderstood him, these are NOT Apple bumpers. They are just copies of them, with the metal buttons on the side.

Yes I will let you know when they arrive. I will be buying an Apple case and compare when it arrives. My vendor is also doing the same to make 100% sure its the exact same. From initial pictures from the factory they are identical.
I almost forgot that my blog has the picture sent to me from the factory in China.

Yes I would assume these are not OEM Apple bumpers. But it is true, these cases being manufactured 'over there' literally cost maybe $0.80 per unit or something. I read that somewhere from a guy that was trying to get into the cell phone case business.
You know if these are truly identical. I personally would not spend the money at Apple if I got the same thing elsewhere for 1/3 of the price. I am still bugged that such a new phone requires a case.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the updates. I saw you had a few other colors on your webpage a couple days ago and now just the black one is back up. What colors will you have of the original bumper case once they're available?
So far the only color we will have is black. My vendor told me that there are 10 or so colors available but we never discussed it beyond that.
The first available date that the factory will have enough stock is on Thursday the 15th. If I had one in my hand I would place them up on pre-order but I want to make sure it is identical.

Good question.... No, the free one is just a bumper just like the picture on the site shows. The $9.99 will be the one that looks exactly like the one Apple sells for $29.
