Friend Used My Address on his Drivers License. Repercussions?

Story time...

We had a phone number that was attached to house for some 25 years. Few years after letting it go, I hear the door bell. Leaving the lights off, I check the entry and no one is there. Scan the drive, no one is there. I had parked my truck toward the street, behind which I saw movement. Pressing my multifunction remote, the headlights turned on, lighting up a row of large gentleman who started to shout "police!".

Turning on every light in the place, I opened the door and had a chat. They were serving a warrant for a guy who received our old phone number. And the system they used to find him hadn't updated to his address.

People change their DL addresses all the time. Walk him through the process and he can use a sticker for the next 7 years.

Other than the cost, why can't he get a P.O. Box...?

not sure what state you live in, nor what its rules are, but in any state I have held a drivers license, said state requires a physical address where you live.

Have you experienced something different in your state?

I use a friend's address. Why? Nothing special. I just don't want to go to the DMV in my new state and go through the entire drivers test again.

PS - He knows, I asked before hand.

You can usually just convert your license to your new state without having to any tests.
