Norwegian here. I'll take winter anyday. At wintertime, I can shut the doors and windows, crank the heat up and relax inside. At summertime, I'll die wherever I go.

Which makes it ironic that I spend quite a few Christmases in Australia, but I digress...

A poll without a poll...... why don't you add a poll? Poll.

I'd take heat over the cold any day.

After dealing with around 30 winters in Toronto, the weather in California is just the change I needed.

Looks like beach weather this weekend......

Here here! Born and raised between Toronto and London, UK. Anything below freezing makes me want to light my feet on fire. So having a nice English winter with no sub-freezing temps is just perfect.

I can handle the cold better, since I'm already pretty exothermic, and you can always just add more clothing. Maybe if I could go to work in just shorts and sandals during summer, it wouldn't be too back when it's hot. Unfortunately not...

I would take winter over summer. I can't stand being hot. I'll give you today for example. Always on the hottest day of the year the air conditioning at work breaks and usually takes several days to fix (which was today). Yesterday and today were some pretty hot and humid days in Chicago. I would rather wear layers and take something off that just be hot when it is cool or cold.

summer, by far and large, I have terrible circulation so winter is horrible for me. Plus you know, you can't go to the beach in the winter... :p

Definitely. I hate Texas. :p

I'd rather be freezing and shivering then hot and exhausted.

I live in Texas, and I'm not sure I've ever shivered here for any length of time. It doesn't get cold enough.

I'm pretty hot-natured - I don't really start wearing long sleeves until it drops below about 50, and below about 40 I'll start bringing a jacket with me to work. I don't own a coat.

There was a time I was driving home from Austin and my car broke down in the middle of nowhere at 4:00 am. It was around 40 degrees outside, dark, and I hadn't packed anything with long sleeves. I couldn't run the engine for heat. It took a tow truck nearly three hours to get to me, and by that time I was seriously starting to worry if I'd make it for the cold (I was in a t-shirt and jeans).

All that said, I'd still rather go through that again than break down on a day like today and wait it out with no air conditioning.

Winter. I live in FL and I hate the heat. It's so gross outside right now. Can't even walk to my car and back to my condo without breaking a sweat, and feeling like I want to hop in the shower. Cold > Hot.

I like the winter, i don't go to well in the heat.

Currently it's bucketing down with rain and windy. Lucky i cleaned the gutters out on the weekend.

Ya i just thought about that. Anyway to add a poll after the fact?

Winters for me. You can have fun outside and not feel guilty about staying in. During summer, even in 100+ temps, you feel obliged to have "fun" even if it means roasting your internal organs. If you stay at home, you feel like you're wasting your summer.

I actually hate summers, but I think I'm alone on that.

Same here, I'm from SC. And we really only have 3 seasons. Winter, which usually isnt very cold- our cold lasts from mid Jan to early March usually. Spring and Fall are usually only a few weeks each, and they are so similar, I consider them one season split in two. Not to mention, again, they only last a few weeks. Then from pretty much May through early October is Summer.

I would rather have this than frigid winters like my friends in Calgary and Wisconsin have.

Sounds like my home state. We really have three seasons, since spring and fall are pretty short. It's one of the reasons we don't have pretty foilage in the fall. It goes from warm to cold really quick. I have a friend who says Feb. needs to be its own season, since you can experience all four seasons in a short period of time.

Anyway, I can handle heat better, I guess because I grew up in it. I hate wearing so many layers of clothing. I love wearing shorts/Tshirts type stuff. Plus, I'm a beach bum at heart. What bugs me most is wet and cold, which pretty much describes winter here. 33 and rain. Bleh.

I hate warm weather very much. I'd rather my spit freeze before it hit the ground than have it be over 27°C/80°F. Of course, freezing to death is also not enjoyable : )

I like 75 and no humidity. It's still hot here in WI (heat index of over 100) and we've had -80 (not kidding) wind chills.
I like the Bahamas. Lots of breeze, beautiful oceans to cool you off and not sweltering in winter.

I am the complete opposite. I rather sweat to death then freeze to death. I rather it be 100*F everyday than have anything below 60*F

Winter. I can always add more clothing or wrap myself in a down comforter. There are only so many things you can do in the summer to cool yourself before you are arrested for indecent exposer. :D:p

The perfect weather for me is between 68-72ºF with no humidity.

Definitely cold. After experiencing both winter in new england and summer in florida, I'm completely a winter person.

I'm curious about some of the responses. Quite a few people are saying that it's easier to warm up than it is to cool down, but does it ever get so hot for you that you can't just step in the shade? I've been to some really hot places (and even lived in them) but never felt the urge to take all my clothes off because of the heat (that urge was prompted by other external factors :D). Being a SAD sufferer (though not as bad these days), I dread winter. The cold just makes it all worse... especially here where it can go as low as -40 (f or c).
