Frigid winters or sweltering summers, which can you tolerate more?

I vote for winter!!!!!

the perfect weather would be, 65 and sunny with no humidity lol:D

I have to agree with this, particularly since we're on the cusp of sweltering summer here.
Unfortunately where I live has 1 summer mantra from the weather-people:

Hazy, Hot, Humid.

Falafels, how I hate that triumvirate of H words!!

Well, I'm Canadian, and personally, I love summer. about 25C, 45% humidity is good. Calgary winters can be ridiculous, 2 feet of snow and with windchill as cold as -45C.

On the flip side, not having A/C when the temps get so high that the ice in your freezer melts (yes, it's happened to me) is no picnic either.

Lethal
But your pipes won't freeze if you lose power in the summer for a week when its 90 degrees. They will freeze if you loose power for a week in 20 degree temps.

winter b/c it's like going hiking, camping, hunting or anything in the outdoors which follows the old adage:

"what you put on, you can take off and you can't take off what you don't have on" which means, in the winter, dress yourself for the cold and if you warm up, peel a layer off to regulate the heat.

You can do that in winter, but we're screwed in the humidity (can't put on what you don't have).

that said, I do regularly sing Bruce Springsteen's "Girls in their summer clothes. " :)

I'm goings to say neither. I'd much prefer it to be about 70 degrees outside all year long. Good golf and outdoor weather.

Move to Kansas City, here we get both!

And my vote goes towards summer, you can't take a dip in the pool in the winter!

It's 10pm and 84 degrees (29C) and the humidity's fairly low and I love it.

I like the heat but only if it's dry. I always feel as though I'm going to die when I'm in someplace humid. What's the point of living there if you have to spend your summer inside?

I could stand a cold winter if the skies were blue all the time, but I'm also a SAD sufferer so grey skies no matter the temperature are awful.

Give me the cold, bitter Winter! I hate the heat during the Summer [humidity here in TX sux]; I'd rather bundle up in a sweater anyway...:)

I prefer cold over extreme heat. The problem with heat is that being in it makes you sweaty and then you feel disgusting and like you need a shower. With cold, it can stick with you a bit, but get warmed up and you feel fine.

I think flapjacks / cheese biscuits would be equally appropriate poll options.

I'm from southern Connecticut and I don't own a coat, long sleeve anything or pants. T-shirts, short sleeve polos and shorts all year round. No gloves, boots, or winter hat either.

I generally don't enjoy the heat but I can tolerate it for the most part. Also I love the cold (obviously).

I'm not really sure, because I never been in very cold temperature for that long, but I think I prefer cold weather. Where I live it gets really hot and I hate it. Its supposed to be 107 today .

i really prefer cool temperatures. To me the best part of the year is over when it hits 70ºF in the late spring, and I only heat my house to 60º in winter. In the summer when a really hot day is forecast, I get up at 5am and close up the windows and draw the shades so it will stay cool in the house all day. We are lucky in the mountains because it often cools way down into the 50s during the night. Natural air conditioning :)

I said summer earlier...but if I had to deal with either one inside a house with no central A/C or Heat, i would have to select winter then.

There is nothing worse than a hot, humid, stuffy, home.

Being from Atlanta... we do get all four seasons,
No, you don't. :p
Winter is just plain uncomfortable. Can't really enjoy the outdoors when it's 15 degrees and windy.
Sure you can, just bring snowshoes.
But yea heat just saps my energy. Everytime I'm in Poland or Spain during their hot summers I just don't function properly at all. Bloody body.
And just think, Southern New England has a average summer high similar to Barcelona.
I am the complete opposite. I rather sweat to death then freeze to death. I rather it be 100*F everyday than have anything below 60*F
Anything above 50 calls for shorts.
all i know is that the roads dont become uber dangerous in heat. snow and ice are not fun to drive in
Asphalt can break up if it gets too hot. Nothing beats busting through drifts in a Subaru though. :p
I live in Southern California but go to uni in Fairbanks, Alaska sooooo... I GET BOTH EXTREMES. Summers at home reach up to 130 degrees and Winters in uni go down to -50 and I must say, I STILL prefer the winter in Alaska!

There's a college in Fairbanks?

I would say we do get all four season in Atlanta.(although spring and fall go by quickly) But in winter, there are a few weeks where we dip into the 20's and teens...that's enough winter for me! We don't get snow or anything, but on average we're in the 30's.

And of course we all know about summer.
