Your cases look nice, but your website is deceiving. It would appear that the iPhone 5 case is available for preorder for $20. Not the case, apparently. You might want to clarify it a bit.

Thanks for pointing that out - I've made a few changes. Sometimes we get wrapped up in the trees, and forget to look at the forest :)

You have some lovely cases! I may have to get one for review on my vegan blog (anything for the good of the cause, right? ;) )

A legit Element Vapor Pro costs almost the same as a screen replacement. But by the way you typed your comment, I can tell you own a fake one. If you could afford to spend $179.99 on a case, you could surely afford an extra $20 to get the screen replaced.

Nice try with the assumptions. I do own a legitimate Vapor Pro (several, actually, which will be lumped in with the sale of my 4S) and while, yes, I could have afforded to replace the screen, I didn't want it to have to come to that. My phone was jailbroken. Apple doesn't look too fondly on that. Ergo, I generally prefer not to have to interact with them post-jailbreak.

Also, your analogy comparing the phone to a car is rubbish. There are so many phones that hit the secondary market after the release of the new model that anything less than pristine condition will garner a much lower price. Would you "expect" to buy a used car with a cracked windshield when there are so many others out there that aren't in that condition? Similarly, people do not "expect" to buy a scratched, dinged phone, or at least none of the people I've ever sold mine to have.

If you can afford to buy several Vapor Pro cases, you can afford to fix a broken iPhone. Why not save that money, and buy AppleCare+? Use your phone the way it's intended. Before you sell your device, pay the $50 (Still cheaper than your Vapor Pro case) and then you have a pristine condition phone that would sell for much more... Since you care so much about re-sale value. (Which boggles my mind.) If you have money to purchase multiple cases that cost over $150 each... Why do you care about making a few bucks upon selling it? There really is no logic behind this.

And your cracked windshield analogy is highly laughable. Did you even read that over? If you're buying a used car... A scratch or two isn't the end of the world. Same goes for buying a used phone. If I tried to sell you a cracked iPhone, it would be a different story.

For the love of God...OK, if you have 2 used cars sitting side by side, identical in every way except that one is scratched and one looks new, which would you buy? Does that make a little more sense?

FYI, if something isn't important to YOU, it might still be important to someone else. I happen to like the look of the Vapor cases. I also happen to emjoy keeping my phone looking new and would prefer not to waste my time and that of the repair folks by replacing cracked screens or repairing other damage when it is--gasp--possible to prevent said damage in the first place. Cost is irrelevant. Oh, and I'll use my phone however I jolly well please, but thanks for the demand that I "use it as it's intended," commandant. What a laugh.

Basically, these arguments are beyond silly. You're never going to buy one of these cases and won't ever be bothered to understand why some people choose to and I've no intention on agreeing with your opinion on this matter, so instead of beating the dead horse, I'm arguing with it. :) My fault.

Apple designs a great looking phone and people cover it with a case and plastic. I never understood this. Scratches are preferable to plastering this junk on something so well designed. Granted, it made sense with the 4/4s since it was very fragile. This model, however, is very durable.
Might as well encase your sofa with some nice plastic covers. We wouldn't want any stains on that!

imagine if you were Jony Ive and you saw millions of people completely ignoring the design aspects that you worked for months on by covering them up with a bulky, ugly case.

I guess I'd look at the tens of millions of dollars customers put in my pocket by buying those phones and I'd be OK.

I never understood why other people are so opinionated on what other people do with their own property.

You probably spend more in cases and possibly screen protectors than you actually get back value wise.
This.

Never understand people who keep their devices in 'pristine' condition just for resale value, never truly enjoying the design of their phone. The funny thing is you will spend more on cases and protectors than the extra amount you might get at resale anyway.

I don't use cases or protectors because I believe it retracts from the design perspective.

Also no case disciplines one to a high degree to learn how to take care of your stuff.

My lovely wife is a vegetarian, and we run a local rescue - a bit of that is reflected in Twig :)

What happened? You people dropped the ball on getting your product out soon enough.. Losing lots of bucks here as time goes on.

Your cases maintain their shape and do not crack or split, as in teh bamboo cases? Is the inside lined? How does the case hold together as in your throwing against a wall when it appears it just snaps together?

thanks

You must be new to the Internet.

Nah.. It is all the comments of people who say. "I don't understand why people use cases"

The iPhone isn't a piece of art. it is a phone. you can put art on it. You can change the color. You can use it to suit your needs.

Someone saw my case yesterday and told me they really liked the look. It isn't even for them but for me and I like it.

Art supersedes practicality. Having to take any object out of a case 20 times per day just to use the object as intended would indicate the owners primary purpose isn't practicality. To each his own.

Why would I take my phone out of its case? I can use it as intended in the case.

Once I purchase my i5 in a next week or so this phone will be my phone of choice for the next 2 years. With that being said, my phone is going to experience some ups and down so a case will be purchased and used on a daily basis. I currently use a Otterbox Defender on my 4S and I will do the same for the 5. If it wasn't an Apple product honestly most wouldn't even care about putting a case on their phone.

iPhone 4 - Powersupport Crystal Back and Front
iPhone 4s - Powersupport Crystal Back and Front
iPhone 5 - SGP Crystal Back and Front & SGP Crumena Pouch.

I've always been case-less until the iPhone 5, before where being careful was enough, is no longer the CASE :)D) The chamfered edge is just waiting for it's moment to chip.

The pouch is not a hassle as it's only in the pouch when it's in my pocket.

"No, they spent those hours slaving so that your phone looks beautiful, so you'd be proud every time you took it out of your pocket."

What covered in scratches?...hay everyone look at my scratched up iPhone....I'm so "proud".

Dumb article.

My Raybans are a beautifully designed piece of eye wear and when I'm not using them they are in a case for safe keeping.

One person's opinion. Doesn't mean it's right.

This person works at an office all day so he wouldn't know the importance of a good solid case. People who work in a more hazardous work environment might want screen protectors and cases just in case they drop it.

This article is extremely narrow minded.

I do use cases, and have a screen protector on my iPhone 5, but I've come to a realisation: why are we trying to protect something just so the next person to use it enjoys it?

With the iP5, I may get a pouch to stop the odd ding, but I won't obsess over it. I bought the phone to have fun with and use, not to cover it up so the guy who buys it off eBay can enjoy it more.

At the end of the day, it's just a phone.
