When will people in this forum learn to speak for themselves and not generalise?
Many people have been complaining for years about bezels, even in this forum. But obviously there was no a better iPhone option with thinner bezels around, was there?

Where are those many people complaining about bezels? Cause for almost 10 years here I never came across any.

You mean in almost 10 years time you never came across anyone in this forum complaining about iPhone's bezels, particularly the fat chin and forehead? The probably most common complain about iPhone's? Ok then.

Nope, never.
I dont think that was ever an issue at all.
I hated the bezel but never posted complaints about it. It was clear to see the direction phone design was going, and is exactly what happened when Apple announced X.

Just because you don't see a post on a small fan website (vs. total iPhone users worldwide) honestly doesn't mean anything.

To all the people saying they are going back to a + after using an X, all I can say is, wow! 9 days with the X and I held a + today (which I had been using for 2 years) and seriously, what are people thinking? Is it just me but it looks and feels old fashioned and HUGE!

Dumbfounded anyone would want to 'go back'

I am kind of easing into this one . . . I have been to the Apple store a few times comparing the X to my 7Plus. I am going X in the next month or so. Might not be logical, but I just like the change. Maybe it's because all of my iPhones to date looked the same, just got larger. The physical size feels about perfect for one-handing without being too small (like the 7 I have for business). I really like swipes instead of the home button.

iPhone 8 Plus has 4 years old design. It is like iPhone 7 Plus got tweaked inside without any major changes. Spending high amount of money with 4 years design does not make any sense especially for those who had iPhone 7 Plus because they just wasted a lot of money for very old design and minor tweaks.

Don't forget that you are getting a the equivalent of a ~5" screen on the iPhone X in regards to viewing photos and videos at native aspect ratio.

The iPhone Plus models offer 0.5" larger diagonal video and photos. However, the phone IS huge. Pros and cons, YMMV.

My main problem, since Tim took over. Is the iPhone brand went from a practical, mostly durable, every day phone. To one that now has issues in cold weather, has a protruding camera, an ugly notch, a screen that can burn in, easily scratches, a camera lens that can easily crack, color shifting, hotter than the sun battery when using certain apps, crackling speakers, etc. Basically the reason I ran away from Samsung. Apple is now turning into just anotherrushed, untested, lowest bidder, part buying, garbage company.

Their phones have gone from the everyday use sedan, to a garage queen sports car that disintegrates when taken outside.

And also to add to that the software has been going downhill and very buggy and the battery life has been taking a hit cause of that also. They're putting out iOS versions with issues and not even fixing it till a long time later or when it becomes a ridiculous public fiasco like the 'I" auto-correct.
That's the reason Im still staying with iOS 10 for now. iOS 11 has been a disaster.

You might be right when talking about holding

But i believe some might find more comfortable typing on a +

Not to mention viewing movies

Many reasons why they go back

every one with his taste, whats good is that Apple has it All ,if you like the X buy it if you like the + its averrable if you want the X bigger wait for next year, hope Apple read this notes on the forum and they will make an iPhone for those people that want bigger X , no notch, and who knows what else
Happy Holidays

I had to use my old 7+ for a couple days since my X had issues, and it really did feel clunky and bulky. After 9 days with the X, I had already gotten used to swiping and one hand typing. With the 7+, I couldn’t do that anymore. And portrait mode pics; amazing! But I wanted a smaller form factor then the + models; I don’t watch videos beyond YouTube and TedTalks. I just want to see a good amount of text when reading with a great camera. So, I do not plan to get the X plus, if one comes out.

Absolutely right. As long as these people stick with enjoying what they have and and not fire up in a forum justifying why they bought what they bought and why they think their model is better then other model. Because when they do this, they are opening a discussion. And part of discussion sometimes are things you don't agree or don't like to hear.

According to who? You?
Please don't make me laugh.
The only thing plus has going for is a bit wider display. The rest is not much more then a 2015 phone. Not to mention that is brick sized and not everyone wants a brick in their pocket.

That is exactly his point. He is fascinated how people are bothered by something so minor as the notch and not by something so ridiculous as the superthick bezels. A more current tech in a body of a 2014 phone. It bagels my mind too but I do realise some people have strange preferences. And beleive it or not, people like that exist in this forum.

That is only in your opinion. The 8 plus has everything the X has except the face ID, and OLED panel. But also the 8 plus has longer battery life, bigger and more accurate screen (colors), and touch ID (still preferred by many).

After all my reasoning (which I still agree with) I still couldn’t escape the X. My plan is to just cast most of my media from my phone to my Apple TV/PS4/smart tv.

Coming up from a regular iPhone 6 I got the 8 plus mostly due to cost. The cell phone is no longer an accessory it has now moved into the realm of necessity for everyday life. It is now a tool if you will. I day any of you to walk into a car dealership service department and ask them who makes the best tools. You will get many different replies and within those manufactures they have different product lines and there you will see a difference as well. The cell phone is no different. Everybody's tastes are different and everybody's needs are different, not to mention everyone's financial ability to pay for it is different. I will say compared to Android which I used for a good number of years IOS is a far better OS. The old tag line from Steve Jobs is still somewhat true. Apple is just works. I have owned Apple products since about 2005 with my first iPod and then my first iMac in 2007 and so on. I have used Windows, Linux, Chrome and just about everything under the sun in computer OS. MacOS is the best by far with less issues than I ever had on Windows. I got my first iPhone in 2016. Before that I had Android and before that had Motorola Razr and others like it. I have to say compare to the Samsung S3, S4 and S6 I had for work my iPhone ran circles around them.

Ooops I went on a rant again Sorry. Back to the subject. Everyone has their opinion and likes and dislikes. Just because you don't understand them you shouldn't "bash" them. These discussion forums are here to discuss issues we are having and solutions, our opinions of the product and to help those that need it. I personally look at discussion boards like this one when doing my research to purchase a new product. Yes I research a product so much before I buy it that it bugs the heck out of my wife, but in the end I'm seldom disappointed and seldom need to take a product back because I didn't like it.
