Lol
My wife and her sister will be able to get in each other's device with no problem.
And people try to say face id is more secure.
It's definitely not more secure than a fingerprint.
[doublepost=1510715228][/doublepost]

You want me to show you plenty of videos with people unlocking others iPhone x that are not twins or even related at all?
Copies of fingerprints?
I never heard of such issue before for over 5 years that Touch ID has been out.
A fingerprint is more secure than the unreliable face id recognition currently.

If the biometric accuracy is the deal breaker Touch ID gen 2 is undoubtedly a more mature product.

BUT!!!

One exception that I can think of, perhaps the only in real world use of having this phone, is wet fingers or food fingers where I can unlock X but would struggle with 7plus

I agree.
Maybe face id after several generations of hardware and software updates will eventually get there. It's not there now though. And like you said any fingerprint sensor will have problems with wet or dirty fingers. You just wipe dry your fingertip for a second and works fine;)

My wife likes her the iPhone 8 plus more than my iPhone X.
she likes the bigger/wider screen. Plus she puts her phone in her purse/jacket pocket so holding the bigger size doesnt matter to her.

I actually like the 8 plus' aspect ratio better than the X, until I realize I'm not in the same boat as her in that I have to put the phone in my jeans pocket when carrying it.

Yep it is more annoying to me personally to physically re adjust the phone or do a raise to wake gesture to re initiate face scanning

Vs a clean finger and re-scan by laying my finger there

Yes, and depends how often you try to unlock your phone with wet hands.
To me it doesn't happen often. And with the newest Touch ID versions its super fast and way more reliable with unlocks than previous years touch sensors.

To all the people saying they are going back to a + after using an X, all I can say is, wow! 9 days with the X and I held a + today (which I had been using for 2 years) and seriously, what are people thinking? Is it just me but it looks and feels old fashioned and HUGE!

Dumbfounded anyone would want to 'go back'

Went back to a Plus last night and couldn’t be happier. It’s not that I didn’t like the X I really enjoyed it. Especially the new design and the gestures. But holding it felt so tiny which made it harder for me to type with two hands. Battery on the Plus is also better for me. The real deal breaker was video. I watch so much video on my phone and the smaller content or cut off content when zoomed was too much for me. Now the rumored X Plus will be perfect. Hopefully.

Edit: forgot about Face ID vs Touch ID. I think each is better than the other in certain situations. Apparently with the way I use my phone Touch ID is better. On the table, driving, laying in bed, holding a baby etc. I’m sure there will be a lot of improvements to Face ID over the next year.

Double edit: I really thought I was getting the giant screen small body experience but that’s not the case. All the reviews have mentioned this too. The X is giving you the same experience (from a screen size and UI perspective) as a iPhone 8. Not a Plus. Which is fantastic for users of the smaller phones. Okay no more edits.

This backs up my thread nicely.

“I've Been Using the iPhone X for 2 Weeks. Here's What I Think So Far”

http://time.com/5022722/iphone-x-review-vs-iphone-8/
Yes it does.

Ive used it for 11 days so my opinion doesnt qualify yet. But I have gone + to X to + and am very happy.

The things I miss the most about the X:
- Size. After 3 generations of + phones then having a smaller phone feels amazing
- AppSwitching. Its just so natural. It can easily be implemented in the UI for iOS12.
- Animoji. Just kidding. I'm filing that in the Heartbeat/DigitalTouch drawer.

The things I like most about switching back to +:
- Screen Size. After 3 generations of + phones then having a bigger screen feels amazing
- TouchID. I never knew how much I used it. I need to apologize to my + for not appreciating TouchID
- Car Use. My mount is about 2” short of FaceID detection. So I have to lean in or hold it to turn it on.
- Control Panel. I also didnt know how much I used it. Having it in a natural position is nice
- One-Handed Use. With Reachability I could touch every corner of the +. Reachability on X is awkward

Overall the X is a solid device. But once you get past the hardware it feels unfinished and unrefined. Like it should have had a more unique UI (Dark Mode?) to actually feel like a step in a new direction. By as it is then once you get past the new gestures then it’s just another iPhone.

Anyway, I intentionally set up my return kit by mail so I will get 5 extra days to try the X some more before I make a final decision. (Spoiler: The idea of having $1400 back to play with during Black Friday makes me pretty excited.)

Thank you for your on point post. It is very helpful. My X will be delivered tomorrow, so UPS says. Believe when I get it. I stopped in at my local Apple store today, like I should have done weeks ago, but got in that Att - Apple pre order mess and already have some X questions. I will use the X from day 1 for the things I do. I will keep my flawless 7+ at the ready when I am totally sure the X is everything I want out of it. I have had every I phone and been bonkers to have it ASAP. Today the X did not feel right in my hand, when I got my first + I was sure it was a way too big mistake, but after a few days I loved it. The X screen did not wow me, but I am an oldster, so it may be the eyes. The silver color did not wow me either and it felt heavier than my 7+ ? I do intend to give the X a real try no matter what my first impressions are. Hope to be back with my thoughts, but again, really appreciate your info.

Do you really think you can actually tell, in day to day conditions, the difference in quality between an iPhone 7+, iPhone 8+ and iPhone X screen? Because I can't.

Apart from when the X screen freezes up in the cold of course, or gives you a headache. :p

Yes, no freezing, no headaches. Maybe you should stop using your iPhone X and return it just before the 14 cooling period is up ;)

Thankfully I don't have to.

Are you denying that those things are problems with the phone, or just that you haven't had those issues yet? Because they are real issues with OLEDs.

I’m a Texas Boy. It’s never cold. Also I haven’t experienced headaches from my OLED X or my OLED LG. Thanks

I think I got this beat.

Went from the 7+ to the X. Returned it for the 8+ and returned the 8+ for the X.

That is it. I am not doing it anymore!
Whoh. You went back to X.
Dammmmit I thought I was only one tempted. Why am I still tempted?

..and there is stock of VZN models in Jax today.

Yep, mine performed spectacularly well on a trip this past weekend. Zero concerns about battery with fairly regular usage, got exposed to water, then beer, plus some high G loads :D

Wow! :D I've fired up my Plus a couple of times (code test ...), and there's no reason I'd go back to it.

LMAO :D
It might not be over yet, you might revert to a 7 Plus again :D

I hope not. I am wearing iTunes out and will stay with the X until they deliver the X+!

Then you don't understand this whole thread

I haven't experienced any of these issues.

Every device has flaws. You are only focusing on a small amount of defective units. Face ID is more secure then Touch ID. Touch ID has its flaws. Can’t use with gloves or wet hands. Fingerprints can be copied just like a face. My battery life is better on my X. Then on any plus model I’ve owned. This is a OLED PANEL. Color is more accurate on it then a LCD PANEL. I don’t work for Apple but I’m happy you have a choice of device to use. The X is the future. OLED is the Present. I’ll see you on the preorder threads next year. When you are ready for change.

FaceID is NOT more secure than TouchID. FaceID has been hacked, TouchID has never been hacked that anyone is aware of. And there are already articles out there saying FaceID is not as secure.

The 8 plus gets several hours better of battery life over the X which has been proven many times on here. The X only gets better battery life than a 7 plus and older.
[doublepost=1510791960][/doublepost]
You act like Apple lied about there product. They have said that younger children and twins may be able to unlock your device. What about when Touch ID came out and people made copies of finger prints to unlock Touch ID. If someone wants to break the law. They will. You can use a passcode.

Please provide proof of this touchID getting bypassed with finger print copies? I have been around since touchID has been out, and if this was true, it would have been known big time just like how FaceID is now. It isn't true.

If it is, link, provide proof.

Point proven, and I was shocked as I never saw any posts on this back then. It would be hard to do though as this said. "What this video doesn’t show is that Vkansee made that Play-Doh fingertip from a cast of a finger made in dental paste. Without that, the hack doesn’t work.

So, in order to gain entry to your iPhone using this method, a hacker would first need to create their own dental paste cast of your fingerprint, which would obviously be incredibly difficult without your knowledge."

i will join this thread in the am....from a 7+ to X to an 8+
when I first went from a 6 to a 6+ it only took 2 days till I was used to it and hooked on the larger phones....since then its always been plus size phones...
the X 2 weeks later and I'm still not used to its size...just seems tiny....like I went back to a 6 again...
so returning my X tomorrow morning for an 8+

Yep. The best security is and always will be a Password
