did anyone here ever think the print on the back of the phone was on the wrap and never intended to be on the back of the jet black iphone? to stop fake iphones from being made and sold as real iphones? durring the first 4 months of its release that is the golden time frame for selling new phones ? just a thought

Just took a clear wrap off my Matte Black 7+. The words got transposed here as well. Not sure how I feel about it. But it's not just limited to the Jet Black now.

I can imagine people with with an affected phone having some trouble when they're trying to trade it in.

If apple they should accept it. Most direct phone turns in go to refurbs for warranty replacements. A nice civil just want a replacement phone that works customer won't care as long the phone is not dented and dinged up.

Just took a broke 6 in for replacement to my cell provider under warranty...I could care less if writing removed on replacement if an issue. I just wanted a working phone. body and screen more than fine...and the phone worked. Happy customer here.

For 3rd party resale...knock a few bucks off the sell price. Not a big deal but that's me. I do not abuse my lens' but I do not baby them either for my photography hobby. Some scuffing from bag rub, other tell tale signs of use, maybe lens hood dinged and dented a little I drop the sale price.

My philosophy here for item buys is use the thing, not treat it like a museum piece. I use my stuff. They aren't investments. Item bought, I drive it like I stole to use that cliché.

Well that and I have a now 7 year old son. Mint condition items...not after he has time with them lol. Will have nice things one day again. When he is 18+ and out of my house lol.

I didn't read any posts except the above, but let me get this straight:

You put a "STICKER" on the back of your specially crafted and manufactured elite black iPhone, then peeled off the sticker, and was shocked that the "stick-um" peeled parts off of the specially crafted back and damaged the delicate paint job and finish on your new iPhone?

WHO ****ING CARES! AGAIN - You must be nuts...

I got an idea, take a DRILL and drill right thru the screen. Will you be shocked if it cracks the glass? and even leaves a hole in the iPhone too? And then make a post on this website saying how, Apple screwed up again, because if you take a drill to the iPhone screen, it will crack the screen a little and leave a hole... geesh

NO $#!+

Lol come down man. This hasn't happened before on previous models so it's noteworthy that it's happening now. The wraps also usually say this wont happen but I'm sure none will take liability.

I don't really care about mine rubbing off but some people want to keep their iPhones as pristine as they came out of the box.

Because the reality is that these issues have only impacted a small number.

Bendgate? Less than 10 phones were reported to have bent. Late 2012 Mac mini video issue? Less than .5% of owners.

Generally these issues impact a small number of users (usually less than 1%).

So when they say "a small number" the do in fact mean a small number relative to the larger ownership.
Yes but about non reported cases? One of my friend's 6 Plus got bent. Another's 6 got bent. Yet another's 5s got bent. But no one reported these...

Getting jet black to stick a "skin" on it?
I have only owned iPhones since 3rd gen and I never used a case or skin and really don't understand why people use them.

I have the 7+ Black not jet black and DBrand stickers and it's peeling off with this also! Not all but I can see the stickers have the stamp when pulled off. It's still on the phone but not as clear as it was first! If I put it twice it's gone!
Definitely a problem for some users!

Jet Black should not being released, if you have a case it will get marks if you have stickers the names is pilled off!
If you bought a Jet Black have it in the original box and don't touch it

Or deal with it and call it a day.

This just swung me in favour of the jet black model!

Loving this new "feature" already! Goodbye forever CE labels!

Serious? Wow. Very effective removal. What did you use?

PS. The other labels look tilted. Can you measure and report back? The iPhone 5 used to suffer from this so it looks like Apple hasn't fixed that labelling process.

Bad design. Bad QC. Bad Apple.

I used to laugh when people said Apple was going downhill after Steve's death... But now it's totally apparent the all Tim Cook cares about is profit. He doesn't give a crap about making great products anymore.

Do you remember the black iPhone 5 and how ugly the color would come off easily after normal usage? That was the last iPhone Steve Jobs worked on.

Given the random flips, slips, and drops that happen to a phone during its 1/2 year life cycle, I am amazed there are people out there that still use their phone without a case. Candyshell FTW!

I stole the pics off Instagram, forgot what his username was but I believe he used clear packaging tape that doesn't leave sticky residue. I own the US model, so mine doesn't have those labels.

Well I am saying your holding it wrong.

Also I am sure Apple has not intended for anyone to put sticky clear wrap around their phone and then peel it off. I really don't see why that is Apples fault. And then again who cares for the regulatory stuff on the back to be there anyways? I would even call it a feature that you can remove it :)
