you're in for another surprise.. users reporting the matte black fading near the antenna lines. I don't think this has made its way to blogs yet, but i've read about reports on reddit with pictures. All seem to have the same issue near their antenna lines.
Do you have a link to a reddit thread? I'm interested in what this looks like. Hoping my Black 7+ doesn't have issues with the wrap I put on it.

You took the words right out of my keyboard.
But, really does anyone care that the information is there or not?

I remember seeing that it is no longer required as long as the information appears in the phone "about".

Maybe a legal requirement.
I also prefer no brands any place on my products. I cut labels out of shirts, remove brand names wherever I can, even embroidered (not do easy), or when possible I buy all neutral stuff to begin with.

Just don't like paying extra for a name when it's all made in the same factories.

Probably I have something like ADD, say BAD (Brand Awareness Deficit).

Just another reason to avoid Jet Black. It was a marketing showpiece, not ideal for daily use.

Are you kidding? I wanted a white 7 Plus to replace my white 6 Plus but if I can rub off all that awful stuff and have a sleek black phone with nothing but a logo, I'm all for it!

I think that's actually really awesome! A cleaner non-branded iPhone looks much better. (My first comment on MR, woo!)
Welcome :)

This is great! So could I use some scotch tape or something to take off everything except the iPhone name?

I saw the video with the letter coming off when I was looking into the naked wrap. I wanted to try it anyway and figured it I took it off within an hour it would be fine. While there is no discernible difference in how clear the writing was, it still came off when I took the wrap (it was still settling and I used heat to take it off as it was suggested in the comments of the video) off. It comes off with any adhesive touching it seems. The skin is not a fantastic cutout and look like crap on the phone. Could be my installation, but i am usually pretty good with this stuff. Case it is.

So many apologists in this thread. Low quality crap is what this actually is.
Apologist - A person who argues in defense or justification of something, such as a doctrine, policy, or institution.

Nobody is arguing in defense of this and many prefer the back of their phone whether it be Apple or Samsung or whatever to be free from brandings.
Get a life.

hehe.... Apple IS trying something new here.

so its not all Jet Black models, only some.... seems not all phones were anodized exactly the same way possibly ?.

I'd be in favor of this but in any case it's difficult to get paint adhesion on a very smooth surface. If you've ever painted a metal object before you likely know that you scuffed the surface first to give the paint something to attach to. I'm not surprised that this ultra smooth surface has this problem.

I'm sure Apple was well aware of this and found it to be a nice side benefit of the new process. They at one point sought special treatment to avoid putting this text on their phones.

this actually has been true for quite some time to different extents. for my 1st generation iPod touch with the polished backing, the same thing happened with a Zagg Invisible Shield. the lettering still existed on the iPod, but a significant impression was left on the removed skin.

for me, as with many others here, this was/is a benefit...but people view branding differently...

Same with my Zagg HD back. Peeled it off after I read this article. Pic is on the MR FB's article lol

frankly this is just ridiculous and completely un-acceptable.
they should have never let the jet black pass quality control.
I just couldn't believe it when Apple said jet black will scratch easily, and now seeing that the logo and prints just peel off and stick to the protection film? unbelievable.
