Full Laptop Refresh By Holidays?

I read the first couple thousand or so, but then the MBP came out so I stopped! I only came back over here because I kept seeing people posting to this thread in Forum Spy.
 
So now what do we do? Hmm...

Hey, I heard the Santa Rosa laptops are going to have a total case redesign and be totally spiffy, and will render all C2D laptops obsolete in every way and we should all wait to buy them since now is not the time to buy and no buying should take place at this time since its worth it to wait and this will be the end all be all laptop upgrade and after this nothing better will ever come out so we should all burn our PowerBooks and MacBooks and throw them out the window since they will be expensive door stops compared to the Santa Rosa which is already taking too long to come out and Apple sucks since they take so long with upgrades and with that thought I have decided to go buy a Dell since this upgrade cycle has been way to slow but let's pleasure ourselves to the specs of Santa Rosa and its world changing 800 mHz FSB which will never be topped ever and how that will PWN our MacBooks and Pros and wait patiently for MacWorld when savior Steve will announce the laptops, the new headless iMacs the PowerBook G5's the true video iPod and the new Newton PDA thank you goodnight.

WHEW. I just saved y'all 4000 more posts. It's all right there baby!

It's called sarcasm... He just reiterated everything people were saying a few weeks agou about C2D MBPs before they existed. And those who are still waiting for an updated Macbook would do well to wait or buy a base model MBP. The current Macbook offering is in dire need of an update, or at least a price adjustment and is not particularly a good buy.

this thread has died since the release of the MBP. surely, not everyone was waiting for the overpriced MBP were they? fellow MB-waiters, i don't think tuesday is likely. and the rumour mill has been a bit dry, i'm getting worried that next tuesday won't bring us the C2D MB either 🙁

Well for a thread that started on Tuesday, September 19, 2006, someone ought to note that the Core 2 Duo MacBooks were released Wednesday, November 8th, 2006. With that, and after 4000+ posts, can this thread finally rest in piece? Sheesh. Move on people! (I stumbled across this thread via Google search about memory limits on the Core 2 Duo Macs.)
