We report full screen ads to our ad network but they sneak in from time to time
Thanks for getting back, and glad to hear that this isn't supposed to happenWe report full screen ads to our ad network but they sneak in from time to time
From time to time? I’m seeing multiple full screen Samsung Galaxy ads on every news article, and that’s pretty much the norm now. That, and the way the page moves around while you’re trying to read an article due to ad changes, is making MacRumors a far less pleasant read than it was years ago.We report full screen ads to our ad network but they sneak in from time to time
This McDonald’s full screen app is freezing the site for me. It takes up the whole screen, doesn’t allow you to close it for the first three seconds, then messes with the websites scrolling ability the rest of the time after it’s dismissed. Happening on my iPhone 17PM and iPad Pro. Literally can’t get past the second story before I have to leave the site.
Four times in 20 minutes this morning this has taken over my screen:

I have to say it feels punitive. It’s been happening on my iPhone, which how I primarily access MR. I’ll see if it replicates on my iPad.
I know the exact weather site your talking aboutYou can say that your own whips are beating you. You can't find a more insecure thing than a smart phone. There have been attacks on the winternet that are made through advertisements. The current ones, which cannot be closed before a few seconds have ticked, are aimed at destroying your last nerves. If someone thinks they can make advertisements that cannot be blocked, then it will lead about 90% of users elsewhere, as happened with one internet weather station.
It was Gismeteo, a service based on airports weather information. ca 90% of their users moved to yr.no. and a sobering scandal followed. I don't know what's going on at Gismeteo right now.I know the exact weather site your talking about
Here’s a full screen ad I just got on iOS. Location is Australia if that’s relevant.I'm regularly getting full-screen ads on iPhone. Just got a full screen ad on Mac (Safari 26) for the first time. It literally created a separate full screen space in Mission Control and shifted my Mac's focus to it. This is possibly the most obnoxious piece of technology I have encountered on the web. I shut it immediately and didn't even notice what the ad was for.
Time for Macrumors to find a new ad provider if they keep pulling this against your wishes.
