kara

I actually think Kara is okay. She provides balance and they make a good stern team that don't allow any CEO ******** distortion. Cook makes a point and they bring it back to reality. Jobs gave them a harder time at doing this but Tim Cook is is calm and smart and controlled.

I accidentally clicked the wrong ATD video, when searching for it on Google; I watched "D10", and it wasn't until 3/4 of the way through that I realised... but all the same, I LOVED it! Tim Cook is brilliant, and I'll listen to "D11" in an hour - very much looking forward to that.

Thanks :)

I like Cook. He conveys as being genuinely pleasant as opposed to the psychopathic superficial charm you sometimes see in other CEOs ;)
I've always liked Tim Cook, even when a huge number of people in this forum where quick to bash him.

It appears that 2014 will be Apple's year. This year hasn't amounted to much, but they can't all be winners. The residual sales of what is essentially a re-run of the iPhone is still selling well.

iOS and OS X will be the topics of WWDC, it should be a good event.

Tim is very affable and genuine, without knowing him personally. He considers his responses well, without masking them, badly, with lies and paranoia. I am extremely looking forward to WWDC :D

What's with all the bloggers and "journalists" wearing the same white chequered blue shirts? They look like Wall Street clones! :D

It's so difficult not to compare Tim with Steve.. and that's perhaps what i'm doing right now. He's clearly an intelligent guy who believes strongly in the brand and the Apple approach. No doubt about that. But I felt like there was a particular tiny spark missing. There weren't many sit up and take notice moments. No cutting reply that made them go "Ooooh..". Perhaps it's just the way he talks and his nature and it's masking how excited he really is about the future. Only time will tell. But I don't get that same feeling as I got with Steve and I get with Jony. Steve and Jony would talk about products like it was Christmas morning tomorrow. Tim talks like he's your Dad. Strange analogy perhaps.

I think I just miss Steve. I miss how he would be asked a difficult question... and he would be silent for a few seconds. Perhaps he'd take a drink of his coffee. And then he would reply in a way that not only killed the question stone dead but also put them in their place, but in a way that made them think he just did them a favour by telling them they're wrong. I miss that.

I think Apple is in good hands with this guy.. but the next couple of years will be key.

Oh and I found it curious how Tim singled out teenagers when talking about the wrist product. I don't think I've ever heard Apple talk about that particular demographic before quite like he did at that moment.

Tim Cook is not Steve Jobs - he's not going to look, act or talk like him, so maybe you'd like his approach more if you didn't look at him, thinking "He's not Steve Jobs" - time moves forward, and Tim Cook appears to be a great guy, a lovely guy, and Steve would be proud of him :)

No copies

Tim said he doesn't want any copies... Apple's future products OUGHT to be unique now. Why don't I believe that this will happen?

I lasted 6 minutes and got bored. Tim might be a good numbers man, but he lacks everything else to be the front man of Apple.

We so miss Steve.

Bottom line is you're expecting one person to behave like a clone of another, and that's not good, and won't happen. How is Tim Cook supposed to "live up" to Steve Jobs? We're all individual and unique - change is feared, but is inevitable and necessary. Time to wake up from the dream, and get back in the real world.
