Furious Mod for Gevey on iOS 5

Now I need to get a proper Gevey, and would prefer to get cheaper one off Ebay too, if this does makes sense. What is considered a lowest reasonable price for Gevey capable of unlocking my combination, BTW???

I just tested this package and it worked on my iphone 4 5.0.1 baseband 4.10 using a knockoff gevey sim ultra (got it from pacific toys).

I did notice one bug, the setting to turn on data roaming doesn't work. After the phone gets a signal, I have to manually go into settings to turn on data roaming for t-mobile edge. Can you fix that part?

Had the same issue but it was resolved by going into the furiousmod.com app and turning data roaming off and on again, guess it saved.

Data roaming always turns off when a new sim gets placed into the phone to prevent unwanted roaming charges, hence the issue applies to every gevey boot.
 
well i'm gonna go for it.

restoring now will update in a few.

TMobile 4.3.3 4.10.01

Will update to 5.0.1 and save baseband.

I have a fake gevey ultra from ebay.

Installed it just fine from Squuiid's repo, time to pop in my sim and see what happens.

Ahhh weak... starts up and goes straight to No Service. Waited few minutes, restarted, does the same.

Guess it's time to downgrade :(

This is awesome ! It works :D

The only thing I hated about upgrading from 4.3.3 to 5.0.1 was the Gevey Ultra Auto Mode not working, now my iPhone 4 5.0.1 is flawless

Is that consider working? the purpose of furiousmod is to automate the unlock process so you don't have to do anything and when you upgrade to 5.0.1 and install this, it fail the auto mode. :rolleyes:

Read my post again

I said Auto mode was not working with 5.0.1 but with this fix it is working now
 
It works perfectly. I installed from the repo and i've rebooted about 5 times already. Works perfectly on ios 5.0.1. Thanks!
 
Just ordered a Gevey Ultra for my iPhone 4 on 4.10.01. I have a fresh phone with no info on it, so I will give it a go and report back. It is scary since it really seems that all the people here confirming this are Jan 2012 registrants!

i spent a fee hours trying to get it to work. it doesnt...

installs fine but goes straight to no service.

Basebands 03.10 and furiousmod.

For me not working with Basebands 03.10 but don't know why ???
Gevey with the ultra does not work and the work with plus, strange??? but placed in an ultra 4.2.1 if it works.
Ultra 4.2.1= work with fs www . x3groove .com
Help...
 
As others have said, I really don't care if people believe this or not because ultimately they're the ones missing out. But I too can confirm the .deb posted does in fact work on my iphone 4 5.0.1.

Thanks to whoever posted the deb! I've been waiting forever for this. Now if only ultrasn0w was upgraded to handle newer basebands...

Using furiousmod 1.10 in iOS 4.3.3 on BB 4.10.1 Data Roaming will turn on automatically the first time.

Thus I still consider it a bug in this fix.
 
1st post on this forums, only posting to help ppl.

I am about 90% sure why this fix isnt working for ppl (myself included)
Allow me to ellaborate.

In my home there are 2 iphone4 each with different geveys. Clones or not, idk and that doesnt really matter. MY BROTHERS gevey ALWAYS worked with furiousmod 1.1.0. Mine never did. Always had to manual procced unlock.

That was until i found out that 1.1.0 broke compatibility for alot of geveys, and read on forums to uninstall 1.1.0 from cydia.furiousmod.com, and INSTEAD, add cydia repo : cydia.myrepospace.com/turbosim and instal v1.0.2 from there instead.

And what do u know! It actually worked! (Its quite a common issue, u can search about it if u want)

In other words, thank u mcbaron15 for ur tweak, it worked for my brother but not for me, because it was based on version 1.1.0 deb file.

Its the same one found at cydia.myrepospace.com/turbosim.

Im reeeeaaally reaally sure that will work for ppl that couldnt unlock with your 1.1.0 file.
ppl could just install 1.1.0 tweaked and if it doesnt work, uninstall and install 1.0.2 tweaked .

EDIT: btw, my brother and I are both on 4.10.01, iOS 5.0.1.
EDIT2: downgraded back to 4.2.1 just now, tryed once again and can confirm, 1.1.0 did not work, while 1.0.2 DID.

I got a gevey cheap off amazon in the yellow plastic bag steer clear of those. My first was a dud. It only accepted data for a minute then lost it completely. I talked to the guy off amazon and asked him the price difference and he went ahead and sent me a red boxed gevey turbo. Used that and it fixe my problem. I only paid $10 total for mine. Worth the hassle. And he did say that some geveys are returned faulty. So with all the forums I'd shop a major site from a reputable buyer and maybe one with more than one gevey haha!!

And guys of course this thread will reach noobs. You didn't think that an update for an ios5 unlock wouldn't reach a new crowd? It's like you can't believe us noobs have a voice.

Also anyone with a 4s with Mac or linux and server hosting expirance? Spire has made siri possible. Dev need to work on a jb program with auto key grabbing functionality so they're sent together and won't be blacklisted. I'd love to be on a small server and possibly start one with someone. Right now there's money to be made off of Siri. I don't have my own equipment but I can bring money to the table.

you guys have to try this MOD It ACTUALLY WORKS! i just got done with it and theres no need to dial the 112 furious mod just finds your carrier.

I find it amusing some cats on here still think this is fake, we're on some Oceans 12 **** then, how elaborate to hijack all of these accounts and post fake comments.


Judging by the thread I would say this fix doesn't work for people with fake geveys, at least in most cases.

Couple of questions for people having probs:
for those who are just getting "no service"

Is your gevey legit and not purchased heavily discounted?

how long does it take to switch from "searching" to "no service" upon boot? Once I installed this furious version I noticed it switches to "no service" much quicker.

Does your gevey boot with the manual method?

Are you on a supported bb?

Did you install via repo or deb?

Did you have install issues?

Do you have "sim applications" under settings>phone or only "sim pin"?

Do you see the carrier option? If so, can you manually select a carrier

Does the black gevey sim screen pop up on boot?

Do you have thefuriousmod.com icon after install?

Have you tried resetting network setting? If not, try now.

Do you have the caller Id fix installed?

2 things to try:

a) uninstall furiousmod, turn phone off. Boot phone again, turn off phone again (make sure that you use the "slide to turn off method" both times.) Boot phone and use manual gevey method to get signal, turn on data/data roaming. Once you have network and 3G/edge install the package via cydia. Make sure you have no errors, you are forced to respring/restart by cydia. The phone might loose its signa (or "no service"), this is a good sign. Now "slide to turn off", turn on phone again and wait. It should switch from searching to no service nearly instantly, the you wait up to 90 secs and you should be good. I noticed after my first boot it gets signal faster on the next boots.


b)my boy had this problem yesterday and solved it, he got SAM and Sam prefs, deactivated his sim (to remove hacktivate) and reactivated. I did the same procedure only I did it to fix my iMessage, FaceTime and push notifications

Hope this helps a bit. Hit me back with the answers and maybe we can pin the problem.

As I've said before it probably doesn't work for me because I have a fake one.

I have to use a different repo (x3groove) then the legit furiousmod.

I'm gonna order a genuine one from applenberry soon.

Probably will work since it installs fine.
