Looks like the strategy is working pretty well for the most valuable and profitable company in the world...

But no, they should change their strategy to the highly capital intensive and low margin hardware manufacturing business...lol.

I wouldnt call a 70% operating margin "low".

Also, profits and margins dont mean jack to ordinary consumers. Its only those who work in the industry and investors who are giddy about it.

If hoarding the most money is the only metric by which you define success then yes, they're doing an amazing job. There are plenty of "successful" companies that have come into that money by doing mediocre (and sometimes even unethical) things.

Point is, money as a measure of success doesn't always tell the full story.
Their products are also a lot better than the competition. They last longer, have higher resale values, and are better supported.

You think everyone buying a Apple products are just stupid?

Ouch. And yet people say the 38% operating margin that Apple works with is exorbitant.

That’s for one of their businesses, which they have been accused of price fixing. I was also referencing the overall industry of hardware manufacturing, which is typically low margin.

They are making high margins on semis, but look at all the hardware they make at lower margins if 75% came from the semis alone.

Apple makes 38% GROSS margin, not operating margin. Operating margins are even lower.

Well, the CEO of even the worst, most hated company probably makes more money than anyone in this forum. So I guess that CEO is doing something right? And don't give me that "but Apple makes more money" response because that is just another "my dad can beat up your dad" argument.

Are you kidding me? It's you saying Samsung dad does better, and according to the facts he don't

I'm waiting for Apple to announce that they will begin manufacturing all of their chips themselves. Processors, memory, and flash storage. lol
