I do wonder how Gurman and Bloomberg get these details. This is very private business operational stuff that could be used for insider trading etc. it’s not obvious from the outside of the business the P/L situation for this service or any individual product in their services division.

It’s not like product sales that you can deduce from sales channels or component orders. And I’d doubt they would leak something like this. There’s not even a fitness+ competitor you could compare it to in terms of usage. Peloton is the nearest and that’s a niche product tied to equipment sales.

I dunno. Feels very odd.

Maybe they should release it in more countries. I don’t care about localization, but since it’s still not officially available where I live (The Netherlands) it’s always a huge hassle to get signed in.
We're always "screwed" here in NL... I'm assuming because of our size Apple forgets there's even a country called The Netherlands ever since California legalized weed.

Dutch is actually at times a language that gets supported after countries with similar populations (but far less GDPs).

Not to mention even maybe using their German footprint to extend to NL (e.g. getting a Apple Vision Pro and extending the German 0% finance to NL) is too much of a bother.

And lets's not even get started with the fact we never see the kinds of deals on gear that you see here on MacRumors.

Totally forgot that this exists. While I'm sure that there is a market for this kind of service, I would always prefer to take in person classes in a specialized studio or gym. Luckily I live in an area where I have many options to choose from.

We love Fitness+ in our house. It gets a lot of use.

My 10 year old likes the Halloween costume workouts. He goes on the exercise bike and sometimes some of the dance style workouts. He has a blast.

If the service disappeared, it'd be a disappointment for us. I dislike Google for getting rid of services, Apple should not start doing it. 'IF' they want more subscribers they should give it more attention, and make it more assessable (cheaper prices, bundle it with TV or Music, or discount for Apple Watch owners etc. I think the standalone pricing for all their services just starts to add up fast for most families and is a barrier for some.

I think Apple One needs a re-think. Make it lower priced and I think a lot of people would bite and stay subscribed.

I’m one of the loyal ones who's used Fitness+ since the beginning. My wife and I weave it into our week amongst other workouts in a real gym. I think it’s an invaluable service and hate to hear the implication that finances may be the reason for its demise - the need to educate the population on leading a healthier lifestyle can’t be underestimated. However, could all just be conjecture and I’d be genuinely surprised for Apple to publicly scale back the operation. I thought it was supposed to be their little darling?

Big Fitness+ user myself...use it three days a week (since 2021), which mixes in nicely with a couple of four-mile walks. It's enabled me to become much stronger and more balanced without having to go to a gym. Really hope it stays.

Welcome to the gym business, Apple.

People start working out in a fit of motivation, then give up when it proves hard to keep it going.

Fitness+ is one of my favourite services, it actually got me to stick with it and I'd be really sad to see it go.

One point of failure is that people try to workout without the nutrition that is a critical pairing to any fitness journey. You can't keep working out if you're not eating right. You'll break down sooner or later. If Apple releases a nutrition app like MyFitnessPal or integrates it into the Health app with Visual Intelligence for quick logging, they'll see their Fitness+ use go up and remain more consistent.
100% correct, however….the US has some rather strict laws about that (NB: I’m not advocating those laws, just stating). One can get into giant trouble quickly if they told, or even suggested, people eat FoodItemA and the person ended up in the ER with some complication as a result.

“Oops”.

But yes, I know the intent of your idea, and it is still correct.

I tried it for a while when it first came out just because it integrated well with the Apple Watch. But all the workouts kind of sucked. You’re just aimlessly drifting from one type of workout to another. You can’t just like choose arm day or leg day or whatever and craft a program based on that. there are much better apps like one called ladder if you want to do guided workouts

Lol, I used Apple Fitness for the first time ever after reading this thread and comments. And I liked it very much! I'll be using it often until they file it with Aperture and the iPhone Mini.

I also totally agree with the comments here about the MARKETING being the problem here. Aside from knowing it was in my "Apple One Bundle" I just assumed it was part of the HEATH app.

For years you have been able to do all of those things rather easily, though I would argue that the interface can be confusing and lacks parity between platforms.

Yep. It’s the one reason I never used it. I tried it when I had it free for a moment and that was my primary complaint.
I know on apple TV, you can set the music to be quieter in the settings so you mostly hear the instructor. You can also quiet the instructor and have the music louder. This was added about a year ago.

They need to offer fitness+ in an Apple One bundle that doesn’t include News and Arcade. It would be great if you could pick which 4 services you actually want instead of having to opt into the 6 pack.

I find the service great, I just wish they would DUB it on other languages. Now with AI, there is no excuse.

Reading subtitles while working out is crazy. That's the reason no one in my family uses it.

They should put Apple Arcade under review, not Fitness+. I used to download and play Apple Arcade games till a few years ago, nowadays titles are not up to par.
Fitness+ is on the contrary very well done, it could use a few improvements here and there but me and wifey are absolute fans. Losing it would mean a lot.

It’s not bad, but needs a little work. Wife and are I big into yoga and use it to supplement our regular yoga sessions. Said classes have no levels other than active or relaxed, and can be too easy for anyone looking for higher or advanced levels. Glo, which we also have, does levels 1-2 up to 4-5. Basically the whole AF+ service seems to stick to entry-level. Dice was on Glo before Apple fitness, for example, and you see the difference in levels watching him on both.

Apple Fitness Plus doesn't replace a gym, and we still keep or ymca memberships, and I with one at a climbing/bouldering gym...Perhaps if you never use the larger equipment at a gym, it might. Doing bench presses, for example, without a spotter or a smith machine isn't safe.

They also need to offer in a One package other than premier!
I feel the same about Yoga, there's no way to filter classes between various categories or level, even though I do find that certain classes are more advanced than others. Maybe they need some AI implementation to find the best class by telling Siri what you're after, which movements you want to prioritise, etc.

Maybe try adding Mac support. It's bizarre I can't access this on my Apple device with the largest screen
Same with Health features in general. I don't understand why the Mac is a second-class citizen in the Apple ecosystem. It's bad enough we get sloppy seconds with apps ported over from iOS/iPadOS, we can't even access our own health and activity data (data we generate ourselves and which belongs to us) on our Macs.

For my wife and me, Apple Fitness+ is pretty convenient and nice to use for a few of their workout routines. However, being in the Chicago area, we probably only use the service during the cold/winter months. Once we can get back outdoors, it is very rarely used throughout the rest of the year. So, I usually try to find a free couple months online or from a recent family device and then cancel for the months when we don't plan to use it.

I just recently started doing Fitness+. I use it for rowing. Really enjoyable content and would be a shame if they can it. Why does everything need to make massive amounts of money?

I dont know if its because my apple watch is old, or if apple's teams just can't get their 💩 together.... but for the last year or so I've had the extremely frustrating experience where often Fitness+ on AppleTV just refuses to connect to my watch, and I spend 30 minutes rebooting devices and force quiting apps just to turn the TV off and walk away in frustration.

Typical Tim Cook era buggy experience

I have used this 5 to 6 days a week since early 2022. I would be really sad to lose it. As cringe as some of the instructors can be at times, it's still a great way to get a workout in without having to drive down to the local gym and fight for reps on a crowded machine or free weight station...all for way less than the gym sub. I hope they keep it!
