G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Laptop Memory Model

I bought this memory for my new MBP before I saw this thread. In fact, I was going to post a new thread mentioning the deal before I saw this one. Anyway, as has been said before, G.Skill is a great brand and I'm happy to havae snapped up their memory for only $65. I remember back when 8MB of memory for my Pentium 75MHz Digital Equipment Corp PC for $200 was a good deal!

If you run virtual machines (e.g. web development, software development), extra ram really helps. In terms of just general usage, more ram helps as the system will use free memory as a cache for the filesystem, which translates into less rainbow wheel time (SSD helps significantly with this as well).
 
What do you think about Corsair for a 2011 MBP 13"? The DDR3 XMS3-1333 model?
 
Now all I need is an amazing deal on a SSD drive and my new MacBook Pro will be cooking with fire!

Ah, my bad. FWIW, I ordered mine around noon and by 2 they'd already shipped!!

I ordered mine at 11:40 AM. Good thing I waited till today, I was about to purchase this yesterday when the RAM wasn't on sale lol. Anyways, mine hasn't shipped yet, but hopefully it does soon!
 
I too was going to buy yesterday, waited and got in the sale price before it went OOS (or at least I hope). I ordered from the Canadian site, didn't get an email saying it was OOS and then got an email saying they charged my credit card. Hope all this adds up to me getting this RAM for this price.
 
i just too went straight to the link via OP and thought for sure they were gone but to my avail they charged me and everything so hope fully i picked up on this steal for my entry level 13in thanks for the heads up :cool: anybody make a recommendation on a 7200rpm drive? will it lessen up the so called "bottle neck" from the i5?? sry to hijack

I'm a little confused about the specs. Can anyone explain the downside to getting this particular Ram, as it's not recommended by the vendors. (the specs don't match up exactly )
 
Ordered at 3:41 Eastern and received DHL tracking number at 5:19 Eastern. Fastest I've ever received a Newegg tracking number.
 
Just ordered with expedited shipping. Should arrive about the same time as my BTO MBP. Will install the memory before first boot!

nope....they wont.....


i have tried several kits of gskill 1333, it WILL NOT work in a macbook/macbook pro with 1066 original memory.
