G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Laptop Memory Model

nope....they wont.....

i have tried several kits of gskill 1333, it WILL NOT work in a macbook/macbook pro with 1066 original memory.

I tested my new G.Skill kit in my 2010 MBP (which has 8GB OWC) and it worked fine. Wanted to make sure it wasn't a DOA before my new Macbook Pro arrived.

I picked this RAM up on Saturday from newegg before the sale, oh well. However I just installed it along with a spec case and I am all set for now. Next is the SSD HD, but that will be a while.

has anyone ever known new egg to charge your cc if they dont have the paticular item in stock?? i really hope i got this ram!! such a good deal

What the difference between 10600 and 10666

WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 10600 AND 10666

ALSO WILL THE NEW 8GB 204PIN KINGSTON HYPERX 1600MHZ (PC3-12800) WORK IN THE NEW 2011 MACBOOK PRO 15" ACCORDING TO INTEL THE I7 2.2 WILL WORK ON 1600MHZ OF RAM SPEED:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Ordered at 5:10est and it shipped out at 8:34est. Just an FYI for anyone who ordered and is in limbo

Do it! I have this same exact RAM in my brand new 2011 15" Macbook Pro for a day and a half now. I have had no problems whatsoever. Also, I was previously using this RAM in a PC laptop for over 2 months, so there are no reliability issues as far as my experience.

Lastly, I was able geek bench at 10974 with just the ram upgrade.

is these ment for my question ?????????????/

Not unknown, just not well-known. I wouldn't use their RAM personally. I'd stick to the bigger brands.

G.Skill is very much well known. It is one of the best and most popular brand in the PC community. Just because you dont know much about it doesnt mean its not a known brand, not just you but towards all mac people.

G.Skill is performance memory much like OCZ and corsair. Crucial is just cheap, generic reliable memory for people who dont care for the performance

normally, some kits have crazy timings,

i tested 6 kits of gskill 1333mhz in a 1 month period before xmas and none worked in 2010 macbook pro's.

So what happened? Did it fail to boot with this ram in? I have a mid 2009 mbp.
I thought it would work for me. Guess I'll find out when it arrives tomorrow. Does new egf offer returns on ram?

Well, I guess I just ordered RAM for a computer I haven't even bought yet...

Same with me lol, the deal was too good to pass up.

Good buy! I bought the same kit on Fri/Sat for $82-83 (before I bought my computer on Sunday, LOL!) and it's already been shipped. I'd try to return it and then buy this again, but there's a 15% restocking fee, so for all my trouble, I'd be saving like $5, in the end.

But this a DIRT CHEAP price for 8Gb of RAM - awesome deal!

Just got this memory into my early 2011 mbp, good so far, I ran the apple hardware test no detected errors still might pony up the 1.39 for memtestosx and run that.

How is it compared to Crucial? Is crucial better, but more expensive?

The DDR3 PC3 module name which relates the max theoretical bandwidth is different but other then that they are the same.

One is a Taiwanese company that caters to the overclocking community, the other is a branded memory sold by micron technologies based out of Idaho.

Better? They are the same in my mind but it is all going to be based on you experience with their products.

I always go with Crucial, personally. But I wouldn't say it's better, necessarily. I'm in Boise, so I like supporting a local company. I payed just over $100 shipped for my 2x4GB memory. Should have it Monday. $65 is pretty good, though. I might have bought that had I seen it. Oh well, not a big deal.
