Here is my main problem with the Note 2. See the photo below of my website (NSFW) and look at difference in colors between the Note 2 and iPhone 5. I love its size to browse the web and show off my work to my clients. However, the over saturation and far too high contrast of the display ruins it. I do photo and video work professionally and cant show clients photos on the Note 2 with models looking orange. The AMOLED screens are awful for skin tones especially. The whites are also not white and they are dimmer displays.

Have you tried adjusting the screen with the many settings?
There are some with less color.
I'm a photographer and I love the color.

How? It only has a brightness setting in the browser, unlike the first Note that also had a color setting. Didnt see one on the Note 2 and all it does on the first Note is just lighten or darken the screen, it didnt change the actual colors.

You have to go into the Setting>Display>>Screen Mode
There are 4 settings, Dynamic, Standard, Natural and Movie.
Natural and Movie are less colorful and may solve the skin issue.

Good luck and let us know if that works.

Hmmm, I will go check that out in the store. I am waiting to see how the HTC Droid DNA looks tomorrow though. Thanks

..difference in colors between the Note 2 and iPhone 5..

Uh, technically this is not a difference in colors between the Note 2 and the iPhone 5. This is a difference in colors between the Note 2 and the monitor with which one views this image with because that's a screenshot from an iPhone, not the actual way it looks on the iPhone screen.

Uh, sure it is. Take both phones and go to that website or another with humans on it and the difference is easily noticeable. The Note 2 is very orange and over saturated while the iphone 5 displays photos much more accurately. I not only shot those photos, I retouched them as well and know exactly how they should look. Its not the way they look on the Note 2, thats for sure. How they look on the iPhone would be correct.

He's a troll.

While the iPhone might very well look just like the screenshot, terriyaki is correct that you've not shown us a side-by-side photo of the two screens but have show us one picture and one screencap - and the iPhone screencap doesn't prove in any way what the display looks like, only what the phone is sending to the display.

Again, I'm not disputing your point, just noting that you've not shown us the iPhone's screen color.

I just looked at photos of skin on your website with the different settings mentioned above in my previous post in both natural and movie modes.
The skin looks natural and similar to the other photo you posted taken with the iPhone.

What is the Note set on for default? Dynamic? Whatever it is, its awful.

It comes with Standard selected.
I think they do that to make the screen look more vibrant.
I'm use to it now and I actually prefer it that way to the other settings but I know what you mean when it comes to the color of skin, it is important to look natural.

Here's a cool little feature that many don't know about the note 2. Put your finger/hand over the proximity sensor and remove it, a ancillary screen pops up for a brief moment and shows you the time, number of calls missed, number of emails missed, and batter percentage. Don't have to turn on the phone.

I just tried that and it didn't work.
Is there a setting I need to set it to do that?

I think the problem is, that the first picture is a photograph and the second picture is a screenshot. You should compare both displays in the same way.

You are so right. Whoever make the photo is trying to deceive. I wonder why someone would want to go thru this trouble.

The weirdest thing just happened. I signed up for a new 2 year contract when I got my Note II. Just logged into my ATT account and it's showing I'm eligible for a device upgrade at a discounted price.

I text *NEW# and it shows I'm upgrade eligible as well. Afraid to check with AT&T because I don't want them to correct it.. hopefully it'll stay on my account and I can upgrade early next year.

I ended up paying under $50 for the Note II and I'm possibly not even under contract? I love AT&T. :D

From a former IP5 user to a newbie Note 2 user this thing is definitely amazing! <24 hours into using I was able to get contacts, install a couple of apps mainly mail, facebook and K9 which is similar to the iphone with all mail in one location. Anyone recommend any other apps to help my transition goes smooth...I hear about juice defender? reviews? Settings you recommend for better battery life as well? Any assistance would be great!

You're gonna love it.
The Note II is truly a great device.

I'd recommend Pocket Cast App for podcasts. You can download over the air or stream directly on the device without the need to connect to iTunes.

Not sure what else your looking for but most apps are available for Android that you had access to on iTunes.

Why I love my Galaxy Note 2.
