From a former IP5 user to a newbie Note 2 user this thing is definitely amazing! <24 hours into using I was able to get contacts, install a couple of apps mainly mail, facebook and K9 which is similar to the iphone with all mail in one location. Anyone recommend any other apps to help my transition goes smooth...I hear about juice defender? reviews? Settings you recommend for better battery life as well? Any assistance would be great!

Do not use Juice Defender. The app is nothing more than a paid version of what Samsung gives you right from the factory. You have a 3100mAh battery, which will be more than enough for a full days use.
As long as your phone isn't trying to connect back and forth between LTE, 4g and 3g constantly and you don't have the screen on for 6 hours straight with brightness set at 100 %, you won't have any issues. People that constantly complain about poor battery life and think Juice Defender was the answer, typically live in an area where at&t's signal isn't the greatest on 4g, so your modem and cpu are working overtime to find the best signal. Just be aware of things like thi and you will be fine.

Just to make you all aware. 41hours since last charge. Moderate wifi use, music and movie player use, texts, internet browsing ie instergram/twitter. 41% battery left. Boom!!!

This device is awesome!

Well 4G/LTE is pretty good and I have wifi at work....juice is out. Because of the iphone which never gave me the option for all these detailed settings. Best recommended settings for power settings?

Just ordered the GNII (Titanium Grey - AT&T). Had the iPhone since release in 2007 and every iteration except for the 4 and new 5. Looking forward to the big screen and customization!

I recommend everyone buy Need for Speed. Good god that game looks awesome on this device and the fact it runs flawlessly is quite the testament to this beast.

Been using the Note 2 since launch day (won it at work :) ) and it's been nothing short of fantastic. My recent device history was a One X (On CM10) -> IP5 (for 2 days before selling) -> back to One X -> Note 2. The size was a shock at first but I adjusted quickly and honestly can't ever see myself going back. I've rooted it to remove bloat and flashed a custom kernel from XDA and mildly OCed to 1704mhz and dropped voltages ~50 across the board. The battery life is even better than stock and wow this thing is just, awesome.

Which Version?
I love driving games.

The new one. NFS: Most Wanted

It is console level quality. Best racing game out there. And for those that enjoy first person shooters and have a PS3 controller; no need to root your phone, download Dead Trigger get a micro usb to mini usb connector and plug the controller into the phone. You map the buttons in the settings of the game.

Wow, I get nowhere near that battery life. Maybe because I use the device on high brightness and tend to spend time in Google Earth  Would you mind posting a screenshot from your battery usage page?

You're going to LOVE it. The size doesn't even cross my mind. Fits in the pocket comfortably, and works GREAT for everything that involves a screen (seriously).

What type of cases are you guys using for your phone? I found this body glove case today at a Sprint store for $25 and it's actually pretty nice.. (not my photos)

This has been the ONLY case I've found at any store besides the Samsung flip cover case.

That looks really slick! I don't have a case right now, just got a screen protector from Martin Fields and its awesome.

That looks sweet.
Does the case make the phone feel thick or is this case thin?
How does it feel when you slip into your pocket? Is it easy or resistant?

The case is thin, you can barely tell its on there. It's not a rubbery sticky type case but it does offer good grip. Slips in and out of the pocket just fine.

I like that it covers the entire phone including all sides and has a small lip on the front so you can place it face down. The fit is perfect and all cutouts are precise.

I'll continue looking for cases but to be honest, this one will be hard to beat. From what I've seen, this appears to be a Sprint exclusive and not sold anywhere else.

That looks really really really nice. I'm going to def get it, wonder if VZW will carry them or I'll have to go to Sprint store.

I get 50% off accessories at VZW so hope they do

What kind of material is that? If it is hard plastic, plastic against plastic may not be good.

Here's Multi View on the ATT GN2 running a custom ROM ported from TMO GN2 & Int GN2 LTE. Modified MV w/ unlimited apps lets you add as many apps as you want to the Multi-View Pane compared to the stock one which only has a selected few apps & doesn't let you add the apps you want.

I am in need of a new phone, looking to switch to pre-paid Straight Talk, or possibly ATT contract.

With the Nexus 4 M.I.A. and not being back for sale for another 3 weeks, I am tempted to just say F. waiting for it, and get the Note II instead. Thing is, I have owned all three Nexus phones, I like the Nexus line, but the Note II does look extremely tempting :)

Or go on Cragslist and pay a premium for a new Nexus 4, but that rubs me the wrong way, paying $150 more for it, than I should be bale to buy it directly from Google.

Note II ? Wait for the Nexus 4 stock to replenish, but afraid it will sell out immediately right away again ? Or Craigslist Nexus 4 ?

The packaging claims it a "durable gel material". It's not a hard plastic but not soft like silicone. Closely resembles a TPU type material.

I chose the Note because I'm already on AT&T, have LTE coverage, wanted additional storage, liked the features available.

If that doesn't matter to much, I'd try waiting a couple weeks for the Nexus. No reason to lock yourself into a 2 year contract if you don't really have to.

check out XDA Marketplace if you are interested in getting a Nexus 4 for a reasonable price. You won't pay a premium if you buy one from there since ripping people off is forbidden there.

I just purchased the seidio case hoping to have it soon but I was also looking at that body glove case may pick it up also

Just called AT&T and ordered a Galaxy Note 2 for $199 to replace my iPhone 4S.

The Nexus 4 looks like a dud with poor battery life.

If I'm going big, might as well go with a 5.5".
