Battery life is looking like a stinker. SOT just over 1hr, and already at 58%. Abysmal, if you ask me.

And yes, already turned off WiFi always scanning, WiFi and VoLTE calls, Location History, NFC, Smart Stay... already updated Samsung's latest Push app update. Low brightness. I have a pretty dark background.

It's just not looking good. I really want to like this phone, but the promises are all falling short.

Thats they thing, you have to alter the phone sooooo much just to get it decent battery life and I shouldnt have to do that with a device. I just returned my S6 and im happily back using my 6+ where I can for 24+ hrs.

WTF are you talking about? The iPhone is smoother than any galaxy and equally as fast. The S6 offers nothing that the iPhone doesn't except the screen and after the initial "aww" it's not that big of a deal. Don't be a dick, this is a civil thread.

Lol u have all that off and that's the battery life u get? Yeah no way it's on par with the 6 plus

That's unfortunate. Hopefully the 6 plus with its 5 year old feel and mid tier status will serve u well lol

That is the benefit of a phablet size phone. My Note 4 gets better battery life too.....but its a bigger phone with a bigger battery.
Enjoy your 6+ its a great phone!

Based on three days of normal use, it seems that my SOT is going to be a little over three hours without doing anything to micromanage the battery. That's just using the phone the way I use phones. I keep brightness on auto most of the time, but sometimes I turn off auto and use it at 50%. It seems bright to me at 50%.

From the reviews I've read, and threads on forums, that seems about normal SOT for the S6 if you're not micromanaging syncing.

Yeah I know its a bigger battery and all that but my devices that matched the mAH of the S6 still lasted longer than its lasting. I mean maybe it will get better through updates but good luck with those carrier updates. It can be a super great device but needs some work. :)

Its not all about specs  Mid tier status still runs better than most. Thats a fact.

I will use wifi Tom most of the day to see!

Are you using Wifi today? Anything to report yet?

100% having a back button is better than not. I just think it's in the wrong place. It's totally in the wrong corner and sits way too low. When holding it with your right hand doesn't your thumb have to bend insanely? Toy basically have to make your palm stretch outwardly to allow the side of your thumb get to it. Uncomfortable. Straining.

If I was using the S6 with one hand, I'd also have a problem with the back button. But I feel that it's too big and slippery for one-handed use, so I hold it with my left and and use it with my right hand, so I don't have a problem with the placement.

Mine was inconsistent at first too. I followed MRU's advice and added my right thumb print twice and that solved the issue for me.

Adding thumb and finger twice seems to have fixed it for me, too. Previously it would always have a problem with the first attempt.

----------

One thing interesting that happened, last night I got a message telling me to swipe my finger after it didn't recognize my fingerprint a couple times. I wonder if that was an error left over from the S5 or if it actually wanted me to swipe? I swiped my finger and it worked. lol

Hopefully apple can make the top and bottom bezels smaller on the 6+. Just too big for me.

LG got it right with the G3. But I get why, apple wants symmetry. As long as the home button is there the bezel will stay.

Hopefully apple can make touch ID smaller in the iPhone 7 assuming the 6S is the same design like usual.

I'm throwing in the towel. Already got Tmobile to waive the restocking fee. All that's left is to walk it back to the store.

I agree. But some dwell on specs like the gospel. Grass isn't always greener on the other side. The G4 does look interesting though.

I actually like LGs look, conforms nicely to Material Design/Flat look.

Much better then the old G2 skin.

O yeah the G3's skin was way better than the G2 for sure! I think I will stick to stock android devices if they ever find a way to work on the software image processing when it comes to Google Camera.

I don't like the look of stock android. That's just me, I feel like its way too bright, even more so then IOS7/8.

Another thing I hate? The app drawer. Why the AZ feature doesn't just stick is annoying. What's worse is even when you go to press it to sort alphabetically, it'll tell you every single time, "we're about to sort alphabetical " um thanks?

Install Nokia Z launcher - or sideload it if you have to. Put it on there for a week and you'll be amazed.

I used Z launcher on the S4 for about 5 months until I broke it and loved it. Would put it on my Galaxy Tab S too if I could, but is not compatible unfortunately....

As much as I like my 6+...the phone is just to big and bulky for a 5.5 inch phone. It would be great to see Apple incorporate the fingerprint scanner onto a spot on the display screen. That would let then shrink down the bezels.

I wish they would shrink the top bezel instead of keeping it big for "symmetry" .

Back to battery talk, What the heck is facebook doing? This the fourth time this week its doing something in the background eating battery.

I close it and it starts up again. Such a rouge app..
