Yep, I already did all that

Switched to google now launcher. Touchwiz is fine but its ugly and annoying (that az thing baffles my mind).

Also lag is very much present. I wish it wasn't so but this cannot be denied. Keyboard is sometimes slow to pop up... Toggles in some of the settings menus hang... Yes the app switcher can sometimes take the slightest pause before loading. There after other examples that sneak up here and there.

The keyboard definitely lags and cannot keep up with my fast key strokes. When typing any serious and or long emails or messages the Samsung keyboard does not cut it. Thankfully google keyboard can be set as default but its not perfect. The fact that the Samsung keyboard automatically re-ables itself in the settings menu and therefore causes the "select keyboard" menu to sometimes pop up if you hold the space bar for too long is ABSOLUTELY annoying. Beyong comprehension. What's worse is because even the google keyboard can lag, sometimes the space bar will just hang on one tiny tap and think its being long pressed. Thus bringing up that annoying menu again.

I cannot stress more how bad the overall keyboard experience is on this thing. Even backspacing can sometimes cause lag. The keyboard also sits super low on the screen because of no capacitive keys. Palm touches galore when gesture typing. Really terrible.

And that back button. I loathe the position of the back button. Why is that there? Why?!

This device is mostly lovely. But these few areas are sore points that everyone should know about before commuting to this device.

I'll be counting my 14 day window. I am not sure this is a keeper yet if I'm being fully honest.

That is ridiculous having keyboard lag on this kind of phone, unacceptable

Tell me about it. It's unacceptable. It even somehow makes the Google keyboard lag. Sometimes it thinks I'm long pressing when I've only just tapped like I normally would any key. That's the lag causing the press to hang and register as a long press instead of a tap.

It's absolutely ridiculous.

The fingerprint sensor fails at least once almost every single time. Its worse than the iPhone 6 and I always thought that was bad.

This device may be going back. If I am sacrificing on screen buttons for a physical button because of finger print scanning, it better goddamn work. But it hardly does the first time.

The thing with the s6 that I'm discovering is that there's nothing really stand out bad about the device... Its just these little annoying things that add up to taint the experience. That's the best way I can describe it so far.

Except for maybe the camera. That's been pretty stellar so far.

It seems the honeymoon period is ending for some users.

Considering the marriage only began yesterday when I got my device I might argue there was no honey moon phase.

Some of these little issues add up.

I don't think it's worth sacrificing on-screen buttons for a physical finger print scanner that works just as unreliably as they iPhone's. This also makes the keyboard sit much lower on the screen. Hello palm touches.

And the under the hood lag that actually causes the keyboard to think I'm sometimes long pressing when it's just a tap... That one is out of this world. Again, this does not happen on my one plus.

I'm not sure where this is gonna go... I have 14 days. May not even make it that long before I bring this back.

I just picked up my S6 so far and absolutely love it. Even though I downloaded Nova launcher and have SwiftKey installed. Nothing but very stellar so far. Have to get use to the size coming from the 6+

My god why does the Samsung keyboard keep coming back by itself. What the eff. This thing is ridiculous.

Galaxy S6

Touch ID on my 6 is really good honestly. Mines jb with virtual home which makes it even better.

Well it seems like u gave it a fair chance. Sorry to hear that lag is still present even with all those supposed beast specs. And that carrier bloat is still there. Sometimes a zebra can't change they're true stripes....

Seems like there's wildly inconsistent battery life too. I know it was posted that the s6 is on par with the 6 plus but I really find that hard to believe in real world usage.

Try doing as I suggested in the S6e thread for keyboard, and if push comes to shove do a factory reset and start afresh.

You certainly shouldn't be getting keyboard lag especially one that is affecting on a system level basis.

If those don't work, there is a system tool for testing touchscreen input, I'll have to find lunk to it and see if your device is registering touch input correctly.

What are the issues that you are having?? Seems like you are the only one.

Install the google keyboard. Then enable it and disable the Samsung keyboard in settings. That'll be in settings under language and input and then under default keyboard. In the default keyboard screen there should be a set up input methods.

That's where you can uncheck the Samsung keyboard.

Bit it'll magically come back checked on its own after some time!

Which results in the google stock keyboard to have a feature where if you long press the space bar you get a pop up where you can change your input method (back to Samsung's). This pop up occurs only if a second keyboard is also enabled. There should be no second keyboard enabled because you disabled the Samsung keyboard. But it keeps coming back!

And the under the hood lag sometimes causes the stock keyboard to think I'm long pressing the space bar when I'm very much not doing so.

The result? Random "select keyboard input" menu popping up as I type.

Annoying. Stupid and annoying. The Samsung keyboard when unchecked should stay unchecked. But nope.

I say again. What the heck?!

That's pretty strange. I've had the Google keyboard installed since yesterday and have never had the Samsung keyboard re-enable myself. I didn't disable the Samsung keyboard FWIW.

Anyhow, my first full day with the S6E yielded me 4 hours SoT. Not bad at all!

Touch ID simply isn't consistent enough. Its disabled on my 6.

But the s6 one is worse. To sacrifice on screen buttons for this? Not worth it.

Note: major lag as I'm typing this on my s6. The "select your keyboard input" thing keeps popping up as I type. Just insane.

This was for S5 but should work for S6 to get to the diagnostic tools

Simply head over to the Dialer app and key in *#0*#. As soon as you key in this code, the diagnostic menu should appear on your Galaxy S6 allowing you to test the various parts of the phone. This includes the camera, display, vibration motor, front-facing camera, the LED flash, the touch screen, Infrared Blaster and more.

Cool it worked. Now what am I testing for? Touch? Doesn't seem to do much. I just fill the holes with my touch finger. Doesn't seem to register multiple touches at same time. Should it?

----------

Just installed a multi touch screen test app. My screen is fine.

Face it its probably touchwiz

Was just about to suggest multitouch from play store.

Try doing a factory restore and set up afresh. At this stage it can't do any harm as you won't lose too much data. Yes it's a pain but better than the pain of the typing issue you describe.

Honestly here I am with the stock keyboard and i'm not getting that issue at all. Everything from swipe to touch works fast here on mine worth no lag.

Can you try unchecking Samsung keyboard and see if it comes back?

Maybe my long press delay setting on the google keyboard is too short. And that's why I'm getting these "phantom" long presses. It was set at 210 MMS. Gonna change it to 260. See if that helps.
