I'm at 8% battery remaining with 4hrs and 15min actual screen time. That's not bad by any means.

In fact, given the high ppi QHD display and powerful cpu/gpu, that's pretty impressive given how small the battery is.
I am getting the same kind of results as well. I am impressed by this phone!

----------

Complete battery burn down was 5hrs and 1min screen time.

This was normal use. Little of everything including some video and lots of Google Play Music.

I would say that refutes all of the jabber about poor battery life. I'm not seeing it thus far.
I see a lot of "cell standby" as well. I heard at XDA it was a software issue they are working on and would be resolved in a future update. Battery life would just improve after that.

I think the cell standby is misreporting personally, it's always the top of my list but battery life is better for me overall versus kit kat

'Mobile radio active' time doesn't seem right when you drill down into details

I use better wifi on off to automatically manage wifi, so it turns itself off when I'm not on a wifi network. Battery stats in settings doesn't acknowledge that either, says wifi is always on. Some wacky things going on in the reporting IMO. Gsam battery monitor in play store seems to be more accurate.

My battery life is horrible when Wi-Fi is on and I'm connected.

It's great when Wi-Fi is completely off or on but not connected.

Based on the forums, this is a known problem on at least T-Mobile phones. I hope this gets sorted out soon.

I think it has to do with WiFi calling on the TMO phones. See if you can turn that off and it might help.

Phone buff just posted their speed test between the s6, m9, iPhone 6. Very interesting results, it's shows just how much better the s6 could be if Samsung truly optimized touchwiz.

No complaints here. I'm getting about an hour less than I did when I had the Note 4, which would consistently get me 6-7 hours (and that was the less thirsty Snap 805 version). 5 hours given the battery size and spec is welcome and more than I expected.

Same usage pattern: mix of wifi and 4G, BT always on with Vivosmart, gmail/fenix/OneDrive background syncing, doing emails, a few calls, WhatsApp, tapatalk, web, YouTube 1080 + some local video. No powersaving or anything like that.

What model u have att version?

What model u have att version?
UK / o2 version but seems they sent me the SIM free version (works on other networks and has zero carrier bloat).

I'm noting down my usage over this week and it's consistently just over 5hrs SOT over 20-30hrs. One the first few cycles were done this thing has been perfect.

My battery life has been inconsistent. Unlocked sim-free european model too.

Some times easily get 4.5-5 hr SOT

Yesterday only got 1.5 hr SOT - 20/30 minutes of that was using the camera.

Not sure why it seems so inconsistent for me.

Yep, same here. Some days it works great like it used to on KK, other days it drains very quickly. Lollipop overall has been very weird, my phone turns on randomly in my pocket and apps get activated or it calls someone by mistake. Just yesterday I was walking down the street with my phone in my pocket and it just started playing music, my hands were nowhere near my pocket. Then later the same day I was waiting in line and it started playing music again. I rebooted and haven't seen that since, but still weird.

Well, yesterday I dropped my s6 from a height of about 4.5 ft on to concrete. It held up pretty well, no glass broke, but it got some deep gashes on the corner where it landed. The gashes felt very rough and sharp in the hand, so I used fine sand paper to smooth it down, which made it feel nice and smooth again, it also kinda helped with hiding the gash. For those wondering what that looks like, here are some pics, though it was really hard trying to get my iPhone to focus on it.

That didn't turn out too bad. Nice job on smoothing out the damage!

The Galaxy S6 is pretty durable.

The Galaxy S6 is more durable than the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Galaxy S6 Edge, and even the Galaxy S5.

SquareTrade already started a swarm of speculation that the Galaxy S6 Edge is more bendable than the iPhone 6 Plus, but this new video is a little more positive for Samsung.

It pits the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 plus against each other to find out how they compare as far as durability. The Galaxy S6 took 1st place overall, which is surprising in that I would have figured that the S5 would win this one. The S6 was found to be the least bendable at 110 pounds of pressure, and all three Galaxy phones survived the drop test with flying colors.

Well, I'm only on day 6 but the honeymoon period has ended.

I have the cell standby issue. I'm tired of playing the game of toggling things off and on, changing settings, and crippling my phone just to get a decent battery life. This happens everytime I switch to Android. You'd think I'd learn!

There are some things on this phone that I feel are far superior to iOS/iPhone but I just can't make the permanent switch yet.

What iphones have you been using that are better on battery than the androids you have tried? What androids have you tried? I thought iphones typically were worse on battery

Are you really sure there is a battery issue because of the standby though? I'm pretty convinced that it is a reporting error. on iOS you cant even see cell standby battery drain percentages :p

My battery is 100% when I go to bed and around 65% when I wake up. With 70% "cell standby".

Now to top it off the stupid fingerprint reader is only working 25% of the time or so.

aye, yea something is definitely up there

my experiences have been different, cell standby is always up there (and it wasnt on kit kat) but battery life is not suffering

Was always my biggest issues with Samsung/TW phones was in regards to resource optimization and getting inconsistent battery performance.

Sucks to see even with this beautiful device and better TW optimization there are reports of this popping up.

I've had every iPhone since the 3GS and currently have a 6 Plus.

Androids that I've tried: Galaxy S3, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Moto X 2014, Galaxy S6
