Samsung has the great screen, tons of RAM to run whatever you want, all of the great features. It also has touch wiz, so enjoy that.

The only Android I consider using anymore comes from Google. iPhone just works, though. I went back and forth for years literally. I think I may not go back to Android this time. It's been six months now with my 6s+.

I get bored with my iPhone after a while so thats why I have both the Galaxy S7 Edge and the iPhone 7 Plus but it doesn't take long with the Galaxy to remind myself why I like the iPhone so much. Another example if I don't start Apple Music on the Galaxy in my car before I start rolling down the street the only way to get it to play is to pick up the phone and launch the app, then go to my playlist and select it, hopefully I can get all that done while at a light. iPhone I just press the button in my car and say play playlist mikes favorites and it plays (Mike thats me! (Don't tell anyone)).

im so tempted to get the galaxy s8 plus, I've had iPhones from the start but they are getting boaring. My only worry is my kids use ipad to text me, so I'm guessing skype can replace that if I go with the s8.
BTW Are we looking at a 7s to come out before the iPhone 8 ?

Check out his review. I can't wait for Friday !

Why not keep the ip7+ and get the s8 plus? That's what I'm going be doing

I'm planning on doing the same but with the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S8.

I didn't plan on making the switch back to Android. However, while I was at the mall, waiting for the wife to finish shopping, I stopped by the T-Mobile store and played with the S8 in person. That phone is, by far, the most beautiful phone/screen I've ever used.

I have the Jump! On Demand program with T-Mobile that is currently going unused. So I figured I'd make use of it to grab an S8. I'll probably bounce around between that and the iPhone 7 until the iPhone 8 is released. If I want to go with the iPhone 8, I'll turn the S8 in and be done with it. If I end up preferring the S8 I'll sell the iPhone 7.

With the exception of the fingerprint button placement that is one bad a$$ phone... if only android wasn't the bloated, disorganized and messy piece of crap that it is

I can't comment on android because I've never own one. Been iPhone guy since 07'. I'm going to get it to experiment with this phone to see what's about. I've been reading a lot of Reddit posts. Android isn't crappy like it used too according to people. It's 2017 android has been getting better over the years. Will see how it goes, I'll be back in September though for that new shinny iPhone !

I tried a S7 Edge last year because I was bored with my iPhone. Trust me boredom is a good thing in regards to phones. If you have no compelling reason to switch other than boredom don't do it. What will happen is you will just get bored of your new phone as well. The Samsungs do have great hardware but after the novelty wears off you are stuck with Android and if you aren't used to it you will be trading boredom for frustration.

Yeah I thought the same thing when I decided to get the Note 7 last year... And maybe it was because I was used to iOS being so polished... (I had been an iphone user since 2007 like you) Anyway that is just my opinion, a lot of people love Android so YMMV.

I have my factory iPhone 7+ and a Nexus 6 which is rooted and over clocked.

I use my nexus when I am at conventions or in places that I am new at and there's a lot of people & want my ***** secure from prying eyes.

My iPhone is my daily. I pay my bills on it, talk/facetime family, go on vacation with. This is what iPhones are best at. Making sure all uses are smooth and focused.

I will say that my 7+ is more reliable. Even before I de-virgind my nexus, it gave me a few hiccups at times when they where definitely not wanted or needed. Which is why I decided it was time to open it up. Going from android to iOS back and forth at first took a little time to get used to. But after a bit I got the hang of it quick.

My advice, is to not go with Samsung as an android based phone. They always leave their old stuff in the dust. Apple is very good with keeping all their stuff up to date and updated.

If you are bored with your iPhone, I recommend trying either OnePlus 3T or Pixel phone. Dont ever buy a Samsung, they tend to forget their flagship really early and you wont be seeeing any updates for it. Besides, Samsung customer support tends to be really bad (at least in the UK). I will never forget the dismissive and annoying attitude by Samsung when Note 7 were exploding left and right, they basically didnt say anything for weeks before they realised they had messed up really bad. All in all, stick to your iPhone or try other OEMs, I wouldnt trust Samsung.

Just had my 8+ delivered and yes it has a pink screen! It's not as bad as some of the pics on the net but it's definitely around the edges and top edge of the screen. Putting it next to my s7 on the same screen settings and you can see the difference.

Just notified my Carrier who were going to offer to exchange it but little point as the next one that is delivered could be exactly the same and I'll end up just going around in circles! Gonna wait to see if this software update fixes things otherwise it's going straight back for a refund and I'll go back to the iPhone.

After the issue with the note 7 you really thing Samsung would have ensured that nothing like this pops up but this could be another fiasco if the software update doesn't do its job.

I just don't understand the need the change a phone after 6 months (such as a 7+ iPhone, which is a bit different than the entry-level type), let alone switching to the other platform entirely...and then come back in 6 months to get the next (flagship) iPhone. But hey, if you guys have money to spare, or waste depending on how you look at it, then more power to you!

One thing for sure *I* am more than happy with my 7+, and Android will never be an option for me, so I guess I'm "stuck" :D

I suppose we all have our own weaknesses! I have friends who drink, smoke, go out regular and spend literally £1000's on bicycles. I don't smoke, hardly ever drink but have a keen interest in tech and specifically phones so I guess it's a case of each to their own.

Well I'm always down for a good glass of wine, and I smoke too (not much though!) - so I guess you're right :)

While I do love our expensive toys, one a year or even every two years is enough for me. Anyways, I don't mean to derail the thread, so back on topic...

Anyone considering the move from iphone to S8 plus should really wait for a while. There's clearly an issue with quite a lot of the screens and this 'red tint problem.

I've had a play around with mine and have to say other than the screen problem it's an awesome device. You would never think this thing could feel so small despite its size. It's a stunner to be fair but all that could be soon undone unless Sammy sorts out the flipping screen problem!

Just got my G8+ , here's it next to my iPhone

Well if you are the type that buys a new phone every 6 months - then sure and 6 months from now by an Apple phone again.

I like too much the total Apple environment - I take a picture on my phone and it then is on my laptop - can do everything on which ever of the devices i happen to have in front of me.

I think the Galaxy S8 is more innovative, with more functionalities, plus a big screen, new design, it's a nice phone ! But ... It is so expensive! Iphone 7plus is less expensive, and I am very satisfy with the camera quality, and I trust in Apple

Yes and yes ! After 24hrs I returned my galaxy s8 lol. Everything you said is true, it's a great phone when it comes to hardware. But Android is not even close to iOS in stabilization. iOS feel so polished comparing to android, wow. Glad I went head and tried it out, glad I didn't sell my iPhone 7 plus. I'll wait until September for a new toy.

You couldn't say it any better.
