Just ordered the Thinborne case from the States - £68 all in inc. delivery to me here in the UK. Snail-mail as it was £30 for faster shipping!
It’ll be interesting to see how it compares to the Spigen aramid case
I don't have a Spigen Aramid case since they're not being sold here in the US but I can compare it to the Benks case. I kinda need to preface that I am a bit bias against the Benks simply due to how disappointing it performed after only a few months of use.
The Pros and Cons of the Thinborne:
Much thinner but also slightly less protective than the Benks case. You're feeling the phone like it was meant to be held. The front case bezel also does not protrude as much which offers less protection but helps with swiping gestures.
Not a fingerprint magnet the materials they used are slightly different than that of the Benks resulting in almost no smudges after using it all day.
Higher quality appearance, the Aramid fiber seems to be more aligned on the Thinborne, the lines matches the squared off dimensions of the case. If I were to be completely bias the Thinborne is much higher quality than the similarly priced Benks.
It's less flashy without the gold accents but it also makes the phone look more professional IMHO.
The Pros and Cons of the Benks:
More protective than the Thinborne but I wouldn't try to drop the phone with either of these cases.
Hinge protection is nice but also adds weight and bulk.
Gold accents is nice however the quality of the paint used has a lot to be desired(pic). Contacted Benks and they said this is normal wear and tear. I've tried touching it up with gold paint but it just doesn't look as good as the original finish.
The Aramid pattern is not 100% aligned with the case which makes it look pretty low quality(pic).
In general I think 'initially' you would be happy with both but long term I think Thinborne wins. Both comes with great screen protector and Thinborne even included a weird car charger which I don't use since none of my cars have cigarette lighters anymore. Also the Thinborne comes in a wood grain box which adds a nice tough to the unboxing, although I wouldn't mind a normal cardboard box instead if it would decrease the price.
I might post this on Reddit to see what the Fold community over there have similar experiences as me.
