Do any games support it yet?
Love the sound when you get a friend request... lol
thefullmonty. Add me!
I cant wait to see game center in all its glory in a few months once things are totally rolled out.
Me too!All I hope is that it kills off Openfeint and all those crappy ones that ask you to enable on startup.
The APIs have been public for ages.
There is no standardized UI overlay when you get an achievement. Nor is there a messaging feature.
When you unlock an achievement, either:
a) you wont see or hear anything on screen
b) the game developer will have added their own overlay/sound
As the only option is for developers to bring their own notification, that means that you're going to get so many different implementations. If Apple were to implement their own pop-up, that would be over any sound/pop-up provided by a developer - that would be such a mess.
In short, these features aren't implemented now and it's going to be difficult for Apple to implement them later.
Where is Game Center and how do you sign up for it?
there wont be any games till 4.1 is officially released no doubtNo games yet.
wasn't me but luv it lolThanks whoever it was that added me in the middle of the night (UK time)!. My phone (which was on my bedside table) kicked off with the trumpet sound and nearly gave the other half a heart attack LOL![]()
hang on, the thing hasn't officially started yet! that's next week, if you notice, in the app it says sandbox, so it's still in testing mode. so how can they be lacking on execution when it's not even up and running properly yet???![]()
Ok,fair enough, its not official. then why have it part of iOS and advertise as a feature of iOS 4? That in of itself points to a poorly handled roll-out/execution.
If its not live why not include it in the 4.1 update and then have lots of games use it. Like I said the idea is good but the execution is quite un-apple like in this case.
