Has anyone been able to get Diablo 3 to work under Catalina? The graphics are all garbled and I wanted to bench mark this one.

Just finished installing Bootcamp + CSGO and mimicking the settings I had in MacOS. Performance is about ~60 frames higher consistently. Pretty big improvement. (That's the default Bootcamp installation, 150gb partition, latest Windows 1909 ISO from Microsoft)
What process did you use to install the latest windows? A lot of people, including myself, are having a hellacious time getting Bootcamp to work on Catalina and the 16”

Is this still an issue with the recent updates? I want to install windows but if I should wait for them to iron out issues I will.

I’ll happily make a review about what the new 16” with 32gigs of ram and the 8gig 5500m can do with regards to gaming. I receive mine on 11/25. I would love to see a review from a normal Joe/Jane that doesn’t have a full fledged YouTube channel they’re trying to promote.

I just want to know GPU memory usage with the 8GB

I had no issues setting it up today. Didn’t push it too hard, but it handled Destiny 2 and overwatch at 1080p like a champ (external monitor).

I have the 8gb 5500, pretty big upgrade from the Nvidia 650m 512mb in my old 2012 model :)

Can't you just manually make a Windows partition. Boot from a USB installer and select the newly created windows partition. You need to disable t2 chips security to allow from boot etc and you need to assemble the various drivers yourself.

I’ve tried wow, runs very smoothly from my limited tests over 60 frames.
Diablo 3 the screen is corrupted. I cannot for the life of me get it to work.
I asked earlier if anyone has gotten Diablo 3 to work. And how.

I found the 16" Base model for 2050 Euros.... Was about to pull the trigger.. Thing is if I want the 5500M 8GB in Europe I can only have it by apple which is 3k..... Not sure what to do.

I simply downloaded the latest Windows 1909 iso from the Windows website. Used the Bootcamp Assistant within MacOS, created a 150GB partition, and let it do its thing.

One issue I did have: On first attempt it actually blue screened in Windows during set-up complaining about an auth security code. I had to reboot into MacOS, re-create the partition, and attempt install again. This time it worked.

Additional note: I was using an external monitor with the laptop lid closed and I had started thinking it didn't like that. On the second install I ensured I had the MacBook NOT in 'clamshell mode' so that the default Windows drivers would pick up the display. Starting to think it didn't like my dock/accessories/external display when it booted from MacOS into the Windows environment.

I have a i9/5500M 16inch up and running in windows if anyone wants me to check something out for them. Currently about to run Timespy, and benchmark a few games (APEX, etc)
