they have never announced the price, nor the up to date program, before they announced the release date.

True but they've also never announced the release date this close to release before, last time it was about six weeks ahead.

We will get the price, as well as details on the up to date program tomorrow at the keynote.

Yep. And maybe it will be 29 or 19, and maybe it will be free. I'd put the odds of free at about fifty fifty.

Also, it's $29, not $19.

The previous version or two were $29, ML is $19.

I know I'm beating a dead horse but...

How can anyone think the iOS 7 icons are an improvement?

The only positive to the new icons is they fit in better with the other horrible iOS 7 icons.
The older icons look better but the newer icons fit the "flat" look Apple is going for with iOS 7. The only thing that looks off to me is how close in color GarageBand and Pages are.

Yes, you can. I plan on doing this when I get an iPad 5 and then loading all the free apps on my iPhone 5.

An App or iTunes content purchase is not tied to any specific device. It's tied to your iTunes or iCloud account.

Yes, actually you can.

Why is it everyone assumes the worst all the time? Same with the overwhelming attitude towards the Garageband IAP. Nobody even knows the details about the update and there are still tons of people going off on a rant about having to repurchase current functionality on the assumption that the free version will be gimped and the IAP will just get you back to where you are now. Much more likely is that the functionality you have now will be intact on the new free version and the improvements will be IAP, such as the increase from 8 tracks to up to 32, new instruments or intrument variants, etc that are not currently available at all.

Relax, you'll probably find out tomorrow, but until then, how about not wasting energy on ranting about something based on an assumption that probably isn't even accurate.

Why on earth would you assume that behavior has been changed to be different than every other app in the iTunes Store?

Yikes! Sorry everyone...

Right, and if I DL it with my new device, can I DL it to my older ones on the same account?

Probably not.... :mad::apple:

And after that update yesterday, what do all the negative nancies have to say? Everything free, all apps updatable for free for prior purchased apps, and the only way you would have to åay is if you have an old device and never bought the software before, and that only in certain cases.

The dreaded IAP is only for new drummers and instruments never before seen in Garageband previously. All the rest is new stuff for free.

I am sure people will find something to complain about...

----------

Only with the purchase of new hardware.

False.

All apps can be updated for free from the old versions if you have them.

why do people keep saying free, free, free....

it's only free for people who have recently purchased a mac (very few) and people who have bought the software before (in which case they have paid, so it's not really free)

There are millions of customers who still have to pay for the software, in fact the majority of people, still have to pay for the software.

Don't get me wrong, it's awesome that apple is releasing a bunch of free stuff, but people need to stop acting like it's free for even the majority of people, because it's not.

Well, it's a lot more complicated than just "false". iOS versions have a free update, but if you've bought GB you still have to pay again for the new content. On the OSX side it's a free upgrade if you bought from the app store but it looks like not if you bought it on disc or had it included with the purchase of the mac. I have iPhoto and iMovie installed now on my mac but no free upgrades.

iOS 7 icons are fine for most people (except whiners)

By the way, doesn't your signature need some correction? I assume you are using iOS 6 not wanting to upgrade to iOS 7!! It says no downgrade to iOS 7 until the drunk 2 year old designed icons are FIXED!

Which translates to never ;)

The icons are fine for most people who will take any garbage without resisting (Except anyone who doesn't like to take it that way)

See? I can dish out the same as what you are accusing others with comments that are totally uncalled for.

In fact, I have both which is sad. If my 5s will work like iOS7 but can show the better iOS6 icons, I will not complain. Just like the 7.0.3 which changes the "reduced" motion to "no" motion! Really? It is another downgrade.
Look and feel, that is something very important. Degrading that experience is what I would say as a downgrade. And I am totally entitled to that opinion.

Or maybe different people just have different opinions and some people actually like the new stuff in iOS7. "Garbage" is just an opinion, not a fact.

Same as the people who were accusing and calling names of those who dislike the "new" stuff in iOS 7. What makes them superior and have the right to do so?

Why is it that hard to understand that those who dishes out these abuses to us who dislike the "new" stuff are not warranted and they were not authorized to do so?

So it is okay for them to call us "whiners", "crazy", "blind"?

I had previous versions of all iWork and iLife apps and have successfully upgraded them all for free through the Mac App store. Try again. It is as simple as that. Yes even if you bought a physical copy of the software in the first place. Just try it, it works.

So if one purchases and activates an iOS 7 device is in IAP for GarageBand free as well or does it have to be purchased?
