Wondering if those who own an XS/Max are considering or already have returned it for the XR.

Interested to see if many are snubbing the more expensive 2018 options for the "budget" model.

Note: By 'returning', I also mean swapping or selling your XS/Max for the XR (for those passed the return period).

if I was on the iUP, and the Xr was starting around $650, I maybe would've tried the Xr, but seeing that i'm going to have this phone 3, maybe 4 years, XS Max I'm keeping. Sharper text, HDR display, better camera with wide angle and telephoto, all with smaller bezels, etc. that extra $250 or whatever will be worth it in the long run for what I use my phone for.

Keeping my Xs. Why would I downgrade?!
Predicting it'll be a bang-for-buck decision for those opting for the XR. Everyone knows the spec sheet of the XS/Max is better, but i'm interested to see how people react to a cheaper option which may be good enough for their needs, & how that may impact Apple's game of charging people way too much for their flagships (imo).

At the Apple store today to see the XR. I was SHOCKED at how slow it seemed. I had expected the UI to be as fast as the Max.

that doesn't even make sense.. it's basically the same internals (1gb of ram difference wouldn't make it slow for you to notice)

That’s why I was so surprised. I had thought it may be faster. The UI certainly feels slower.

Almost all my interaction with my XS Max involves the screen. Unless I’m using as a phone or listening to music, I am looking at the screen. That means the screen is quite simply the most important part of the phone. The XR looks like a great phone but the compromises made with the screen are unacceptable to me. My Max has an incredible screen, which is really important to me considering how much time I spend reading text and watching video on it.

I’m sticking with my Max, but no doubt a lot of people will be very happy with their XR. We are fortunate to have so many great choices from Apple.

Picked up an XR to substitute my woes with the XS and really liking it. Not going to be returning the XS or XS Max since they're launch phones but I would return them for another XR if I had the chance and was in a different situation. I really am enjoying this phone it's what the 8 should have been.

Nope. From the beginning got the Max and staying with the Max. Not downgrading. My girl got the XR and loves it. To my surprise XR practically same size like Max. Max for me. Love it. I never even considered the XR after using my X.

I’ve been using an Xr since Friday, and I’ll be returning the Xr and keeping the Max: it’s all about that big screen. The Xr feels and looks tiny in my hand by comparison.
