Gelaskins interferes with iPhone 4 Flash

Regarding the sensors; we have made cutouts for them and what likely happened is that they accidentally peeled up with your skin when you removed it from the backer.

Remove the skin and look closely; I'm sure you'll find the two little pieces I'm talking about. There's one above the speaker hole, and one to the right of it - you can pop them out with your fingers I suspect.

About the flash issue; We've got a solution and are just waiting on another small detail to fall into place, so we should have something to talk about in a week or so. When we do make the change, any of you folks that are experiencing the issue and would like to exchange it, we'll happily replace the skin for you free of charge.

I was going to order one with a red wings logo, but I was afraid they wouldn't do it because I don't have the rights to the logo. Guess not.
 
I'm also thinking about ordering a Red Wings logo gela skin, just need to work it up and give it a try.

I don't know, maybe there website or e-mail them? seems logical to me. Also they'll probably respond to this thread.
 
Any thoughts on how the side strips do to helping with the antenna issue. Though some say the skin does and others that it does not play nice with the bumper, I would prefer to leave my bumper off when I apply the skin.

I have the Back and Volume Button Side on only with my Bumper and it seems to fix it. Of course it could be a Placebo Effect

If you're looking for a temporary solution until you get your replacement skin, you could try the hole punch trick. If you're worried about the hole punch not being sharp enough to cut through cleanly, punch several times through a few sheets of tin foil before trying it on the skin. That'll sharpen the cutting edge right up.
 
I did some before and after flash tests and found that it does artifact. Gelaskins sent out an email today informing that all skins from now on will be corrected and that they are putting a recall form in place for those of us who already received skins with the older flash cut out. I thought about using a hole punch to enlarge the flash hole, however it was far too large and would not have looked good, so I didn't change it. I'll just wait for them to make it right.

Having received my email from GELASKIN. How about you XRAYTECH?
 
So if we use a Bumper, the skin will peel on the edges underneath?

I want to order one of these but have a Bumper. I dont want to purchase if the skin underneath will be ruined.
 
seriously why can you just get our youre exacto knife, a ruler and cut a tiny strip off? why hasnt anyone said that yet?

Um maybe because this material is meant to protect, thus tough and taking a knife to it might stretch the material making it ruined.

I have a bumper and found it didn't cause the skin to bubble or peel at the edges. 2 things.

1. Positioning may have something to do with it. Mine might be positioned just right not to affect it.

2. I also put mine on and rubbed it in quite well and used it for a 2 days prior to putting the bumper on. I think putting the bumper on immediately after putting the skin on will have more probability of peeling it if it can't get good and set first.
