Joseph Gordon Levitt....enough said. Great actor and can play Steve young and old.

Wylie and Clooney have to be out. Whoever it is, needs to play him young and old, so it should be someone around 30 or so.

I mean no disrespect here at all but how are either one of those guys gonna play a man that is very skinny dying from cancer ?

It's become quite common and easy to digitally exaggerate an actor's physique in big budget productions. For example, look at the recent Captain America where the actor's head was pasted on a scrawny anemic body before the hero gains his powers, and then his physique was altered to appear far more bulked up than the actual actor is afterwards.

I think Wylie was pretty good as Steve Jobs and deserves a 2nd shot.

I like both George and Noah as actors, but I don't believe George is the right person to play Steve. Noah already did, and did a fine job at it.

Ashton nearly ruined the emotional parts of 'The Butterfly Effect' which was otherwise a good mind bender. I think he could pull it off though, with a very good director. I also think it would be difficult to change actors mid movie with out some sort of serious break of focus from Steve Jobs. That or a montage, but seriously.... It's hard to wrap your head around a different face playing the same person within 2-3 hrs (dear god don't let it be too long). I like Noah in many of his roles, even the Librarian, but I don't think he's versatile enough to play young and old steve. Young and old are two very similar, yet very different people. I can't wait to make my kids watch this in a decade or so.

Noah Wylie = younger Steve Jobs

George Clooney = older Steve Jobs with illness (he would have to lose a lot of weight though)

My real preference would be for Keannu Reeves

Is the insinuation that Jobs rescued us from the matrix?

Bakula?

Ashton looks great for early Steve, but for Noughties ('00s) Steve, you gotta go Scott Bakula.

CK.

They should re-unite the very successful social network team..

Aaron Sorkin to write the script
David Fincher to direct
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to do the soundtrack

We already know that Trent is a huge Apple/Steve Jobs fan and has used Apple technologies for years so he would be willing to do it imho. Fincher and Sorkin have worked together before obviously on the social network and did a brilliant job with that. It's the natural choice imho.

Although I suppose the fear might be it would end up too much like the social network but I can't see that being too bad a thing really.

Who's going to play the Steve Jobs Bill Gates hybrid?

Someone got Photoshop and thinks we're interested in "cute" 'Shopped images.

We're not.

Um, does anyone on this forum keep up with current Hollywood techniques?

They will just CGI the "young" Steve (or the "old" Steve, or both). Take a look at Chris Evans' transformation in Captain America or Natalie Portman dancing in Black Swan to see how they can put any head on any body they want, and modify the face if necessary. (Not saying it looks perfect yet, just that that's what they do.)

BTW, George Clooney would be terrible.

Ashton Kutcher for teen/young adult years

Ashton Kutcher should play hippie Steve Jobs.

Ashton Kutcher is a terrible actor. Whoever they get to play Steve will be a better actor than "look-a-like".

Whoever said Fincher should direct is spot on. That team would be good.

Maybe...I can see them doing that with "old" to make him look even more like what we all remember.

I still think it will be someone around 30 and not much older.

Who is the bigger jerk? Playing Jobs will require a jerk. I just got done with the biography and am much less of a fan than I was before. Good businessman, yes. Good person, heck no. And all the corny LSD crap and weird rituals, come on. He comes off as ridiculous and pretentious.

Someone less known...

I personally think they should go with someone less famous. Clooney is way too much of a celebrity, so I'd like to see something similar to The Social Network, an excellent rising star. And it also has to be someone a bit crazy too, just like Jobs himself... Don't make it a Hollywood movie, make it a Silicon Valley movie, because that's what it is.

Unfortunately if you want to make it big in the business world you need to be an ******* most of the time.

Adrien Brody

Adrien Brody would be great he can do geeky (Darjeeling Limited) and pathos (The Pianist), he looks somewhat similar to a younger Steve Jobs and he is an *insanely great* actor
