How about that boy from super bad, Mcdougal, as a younger Steves?

Look, we all know that larry david is the best choice.

Why did I not automatically think of Larry David?!

Larry would be great albeit he is too comical for the role and I'm sure people wouldn't take him seriously. However, Larry would DEFINITELY get Steve's character down, especially the bursts of fury and the Reality Distortion Field.

Christian Bale or . . . I'm really not sure who else. This role requires intensity (and SJ-ish ******ry that Bale can easily pull off believably.)

Bale would fit the role quite nicely, true. But I Think person I quoted below has a better suggestion and I think he could do intensity quite well (he did an excellent job in The Aviator playing Howard Hughes and that guy was pretty intense.

Leonardo or Topher Grace guy to play during Jobs younger years.

Leonardo would be an *excellent* choice. In fact of all the ones I've seen suggested here, I think he would be the best choice. Despite him getting a bad image from Titanic (which he's actively tried to avoid those roles again cause that's not the career the guy wants) the guy actually can act pretty well and has experience playing real life characters (I know of two of off the top of my head he's played, in "Catch me if You Can" and "The Aviator", both of which he did an excellent job).

And hell, I'm sure they can do make up to make him look more like the older Jobs so I don't think he would have to just do the younger Jobs either.

Now if he would take the roll is another point entirely. From what I've read/seen of biographies of him, he has been actively trying to keep away from more blockbuster rolls and get in rolls where he'd be viewed more seriously as an actor.

Now magazine is a crappy showbiz rag.

I would ignore this story due to the quality of the source. Unless Now magazine is about to break their first ever story instead of telling it's readers about *insert z list reality star contestant name here"'s real life drama.....

First of all no to Clooney, maybe on Wyle, I'm thinking more of Ashton Kutcher, Leonardo or Topher Grace guy to play during Jobs younger years. I don't know who can play the much older guy, maybe David Hyde Pearce, Patrick Stewart or James Cromwell.

It would probably be better if the actor chosen actually looks like Steve Jobs.

I think this is going too far. I mean, I like Jobs. I respected him for what he did at Apple. But I don't like this God status that he gets in the press, since he is died. What they are saying about him changing the world, c'mon. Movies, books, stories. There are more important people then Jobs. Leave the guy alone. I don't think he would liked this anyway.

I agree somewhat, but he did change the world for a lot of people; not just consumers and the way they consume media but for independent musicians, authors and game developers.

The app store alone enabled a huge pool of game devs the opportunity to create great games and get their product out into the market without needed a big name publisher. He certainly changed their worlds for the better.

I won't even go into what itunes has done for independent musicians.

PS- Sure there are other services now like the app store/itunes but either they are following the model Apple, with the guidance of Steve, has set forth or they haven't had the impact that the app store/itunes has had on these independent producers/developers.

Honestly does the actor's physical appearance even matter that much? I'm sure they could easily make anyone look exactly like Jobs with CGI...

But I do like the idea of Christian Bale.

Drooling about the accompanying Jobs action figure with the limited edition DVD. Got my credit card in hand ready for this epic movie. I heard Foxconn producing little Jobs although there are some issues about getting the black color turtleneck just right and the head few millimeters off to right side per Ives.

Hope they come out with a video game too to complete the ensemble...

Clooney is a pretty accomplished actor and all, but I really can't see him playing Jobs. Wyle I could accept only on the fact that he has done the role before, but I honestly can't see him doing it again for a movie like this.

Overall I think if we are looking at something of "Social Network calibur" for a Steve Jobs biopic, I would prefer to see a virtual unknown in the lead role. I have to believe that a big name actor like Clooney or Keanu would kind of ruin the illusion that we are supposed to believe this character is indeed Steve Jobs.

My best pick would be talent-wise, Joseph Gordon Levitt.
Makeup artist can do great things..
Forget Wyle, Clooney and.. lol, (one face man) Keanue Reeves.

...

But I do like the idea of Christian Bale.

I have to agree...

prerequisite #1 you gotta be able to act (this eliminates Keanu)
prerequisite #2 you gotta vaguely look like SJ (eliminates Leonardo)
prerequisite #3 you gotta be able act like you have an explosive temper, be able to berate people (wait, Bale just needs to be himself ...)
