Upgraded from 8 Plus to 13 Pro Max (PM) and glad I chose PM instead of 13 Pro. I was on the fence as to whether or not the PM was too big and was torn between the two. The threads on here left me even more undecided as some were complaining about hurt wrists and the phone being too heavy for day to day use. Some even returned their PM for Pro’s. I played with both in the store but was still left undecided. I didn’t want to make the wrong choice as my carrier charges a $50 restocking fee to exchange devices so I was about to cancel my PM order and order a Pro instead due to all of the negative reviews about the size.

Glad I decided to stick to my gut and keep the PM! I don’t have large hands however I don’t see what all of the fuss is about! With an Apple leather case it is easier to hold and handle than my 8 Plus. I don’t even really feel the extra weight from my 8 Plus even holding with one hand. It is easier to type on as well with less errors. This screen is gorgeous and the size is a nice upgrade and worth it over the 8 plus (along with the performance). It is not heavy, yet a solid feeling of a quality flagship device that will last if taken care of. Even though still nice, I don’t believe I would have gotten the same “wow” with the regular Pro.

So, if you’re on the fence and scared of the PM, just go for it and don’t look back!

I have an 8+ and am in the same place as you. Thanks for sharing your experience. What you said about typing being easier and making less errors is helpful to me. I like the size of the pro the there are so many other positives with the PM. I had a 6+ and went to a 6s to try a smaller form factor. Just about threw it against a wall a number of times because the device was so narrow and made accurate typing difficult for me. I do have larger hands. Went to an 8+ after that and won't go smaller.

I’m thoroughly familiar with the ergonomics of the 8+ I’ve been using it daily for 4 years. It is a large heavy phone in size only. The Pro Max has so much more screen real estate I immediately noticed on initial typing. It just feels that much more comfortable in the hand and I felt so much more confident typing. Amazing how a phone physically can be bigger, yet ergonomics makes it feel smaller.

I personally feel going from 8+ to Pro is a jump but 8+ to Pro Max is a leap.

So you went from one large phone to another large phone. Are we supposed to be surprised that the Pro Max doesn’t feel large, heavy, different or odd to you?

Large plus sized iPhones have been around since 2014 with the 6+ with many consumers choosing the larger size as the flagship device. Many complaints about the weight of the 13PM were from folks that came from larger devices even after the 8+ like the XS Max, 11 PM and 12 PM. I was simply stating my experience that the 13 Pro Max doesn’t feel more uncomfortable than my 8+, yet feels easier to hold.

I went from the X to the 12 Pro to the 13 Pro Max. The phone doesn’t feel large, heavy, different or odd.

It’s just better with a bigger screen. My 12 Pro now feels like a mini.

iPhone 13 Pro Max is the best damn product Apple has ever made. Congratulations on making the absolutely correct purchasing decision.

if the upcoming SE iPhone has the same processor as your phone and is still $399 I'm buying that instead of the max.

I already have awesome large S21 Samsung Ultra and Note 20 phones.

I MISS A SMALL BUT POWERFUL IPHONE YOU CAN CARRY IN A PANTS POCKET.

I had the original SE before upgrading to 12 Pro Max. Man, what a big difference, but so easy on my eyes and I can view some work documents on the go, so I feel safe.

Now, I'm going for the 13 Pro Max, I will never go for a smaller screen ever again.

And talk about fitting it into the back of my jeans, 12 Pro Max fits and I'm only a size 27 denim girl. Why do people say it won't fit???

I've been going with "the big phone" ever since the 7 Plus hit the market. Never once regretted having the larger screen, and the form factor of the 13PM feels sturdier than the 11PM. Welcome to the club!
I’ve hated the bar of soap profile since the 6, so I’m looking forward to upgrading from my 11PM to the 13PM and not worrying about it leaping from my grip.

Whiners love to whine. Having a mini ipad in my pocket with great cameras and battery life is amazing.

Definitely easier and more secure to hold. Loved the feel of the 4, 5, SE, hated the 6-11 plus shape because they always felt ready to slip. I’ve had my 6s+ and 11PM go flying several times. As far as weight goes, compromises.

I feel if I didn’t go to the promax I wouldn’t have gotten my moneys worth. I mean for $100 more than the regular pro you’re going from a 3095 Mah battery to a 4352 mah battery. That’s a huge difference. Furthermore being able to type on the keyboard with the extra width is way nicer ergonomically. The regular pro this year is more dense so the weight is not as evenly distributed as on the promax. And of course who doesn’t want a bigger screen. Pro Max all day every day. If I was really anal about having something more pocketable I would get the regular 13 with the bigger battery than the pro. Sure you lose some features of the pro but its lighter than the pro thus making it easier To hold

I'm still enjoying my 12 pro max and did think about changing, but there are a couple of apps which bring it up to almost equal to the 13 max pro..these are Focos Live and Halide. I suggest that if you're in the same position as me, try these great apps first.

Apple makes one.... It's called the iPhone 13 Mini. Same top-of-line processor as all the other phones.

I have a 12 Mini. It's very powerful. Easily fits in my pants pocket. Great screen, battery life is just fine too. The battery easily lasts all day for me (and the 13 Mini has a bigger battery).

If you want a small powerful phone, the Mini is it!

100% this. You can’t get anything as small or as powerful, and probably likely won’t ever again. Get it now while you can.

I love vanilla Ice Cream, it is the best. No, I love Chocolate, it is way better. No way Strawberry ice cream is the most unique and therefore the best! How about Ice cream is just an amazing invention and it super awesome that we have some so many flavor choices :).

You don’t get saggy pockets?

Is it true you can type with Jess mistakes in the max? If so why?
