Hey guys

So I wanted to see what some of you thought before I went out and got this. Saw this on 9to5mac this morning and it looked really cool! I have always wanted my logo to glow so does anyone this this is worth doing on my white 4S? I read on their website it Dosent kill the battery or anything because it's low-emitting and it seems pretty easy to install what do you guys think?

well i was going to ask my parents to get me a small gift for holidays so maybe not a terrible idea? hmm hate how you cant shut it off so to turn it off you would have to take it out completely

I already have apple care but what does that have to do with the glowing apple haha

I think he may have been making a joke about other stuff you can 'waste' your money on. Personally I like the glowing Apple but I don't like it on the iPhone. Neat hack but not for me.

if we could somehow make it so that LED would flash for a notification, i would buy it.

You can make the current LED flash, flash when you get a notification: Settings, General, Accessibility --> LED Flash for Alerts.

Done, and done. And most of all, FREE....

I bought this for my iPhone 4S for less. It does not light up but it is a clear back...

I'd do it. In fact, I've seen 3 employees at my local Apple store with black fronts/white backs.

One genius even told me what website he got his new back from for his 4S.

Most employees won't care so much if you replace the back, just remember to put the original back on when you need tech help. Good luck!

Exactly. I work at a phone provider and I've got a black iPhone 4 with a white backplate and people are always asking me where/why. It's awesome.

Why not ask for something like new shoes or a new backpack for your school books.

Har har.

I think this mod is pretty cool, but at $42 it's kind of expensive.

Well if you think it is cool . . . . there is so much junk out there for the iPhone. You people's problem is that all of your phones look exactly the same and you are all struggling to some kind of individuality!

I guess it is because the average age of the user her is 14 years old

I actually like it. I just don't want to mess with my 4S until after the warranty period. But as someone posted, it's another one of those things that's not necessary, because battery longevity is more important for me than a glowing fruit.

It states in the video that the light actually shuts off 15 seconds after your screen powers off.

I think it'd be a reasonably-priced and pretty neat mod, but the light bleed on the white iPhone in the video is horrendous. I'm not sure if it's the video quality or not, but you can't even tell it's an apple when the light is on the white one, which is what I have.

um actually I am a college student home from break, so I'll pass on the backpack as I have a really nice Incase one I use for class/iPad/Macbook pro but I do have a new pair of Nike's on the Hanukkah list! haha

but in other words most of you are saying it's not worth it hmm I don't know, I guess I will think about it ask a few friends and see.... $40 is not that bad for a glowing fruit on the back of my phone haha pretty cool I think!

iPhone Hack

Lets see, $42.00, void warranty/Applecare, battery drain, I'll pass. I've gat a case to protect mine anyway. It'll look new when I sell it and get an iPhone 5.
