Glowing Apple Logo on iPhone kit

Found this about when it's illuminated. Pretty cool.

■ whenever front screen turns on, but stays on for 15 seconds after front screen is turned off!
■ while you are holding the phone up to your face and are having a phone conversation, even when front screen is turned off.
■ when there is an incoming call, an SMS is received or the phone alarm is ringing
■ if any background applications are detected to be sending or receiving data during the iPhone's standby mode
■ Stays on indefinitely while charging

Not good for me, I put my phone to charge when I lay down for the night on my nightstand. This would be beyond annoying. Was actually thinking about ordering until I read that.

Do you lay the phone on its face while charging? If not, then I dont see the problem

YES, thats what I would like.

I wish they would release an iphone that shares the same design language as the macbook pro/iMac line

I think it'd be a reasonably-priced and pretty neat mod, but the light bleed on the white iPhone in the video is horrendous. I'm not sure if it's the video quality or not, but you can't even tell it's an apple when the light is on the white one, which is what I have.

which is why I bought a black one for my white iphone lol.

Ruined it for me too. I use Sleep Cycle so having that light would be very harmful to my sleep.

That's genius! Wish I had thought of that. (sarcasm)

sleep cycle specifically tells you to lay the phone with glass down. Even if I could lay it down on its back there would still be some light emitting from it; enough to annoy me.
 
With Everone

Moaning about battery life, this is really not going to help the situation at all. I've just about got my 4S to last a day and a half in average use....Blinking lights and bleeping gadgets?

Not for me.
 
So while using this kit in the dark you have an apple logo beacon shining out saying I'm using an iPhone , come mug me !!

If that's the case, this is a good deal considering ifixit sells the back for $80.
