I have full pockets much of the time. I don't have room to keep a MagSafe battery pack with me at all times just in case my battery dies, on top of all the other essentials that I have in my pockets. Sure, that's an option, but I don't always know when I will or will not need it, either. It depends on the day, what I'm doing, how hot is it outside, and multiple other factors on how long the phone battery will last. I also did not realize I would be out so long that day. My phone was full when I left the hotel, we (a group) made a decision to go somewhere else that was a long ways away by Subway. My day was longer than expected. Battery died. It's really not that complicated.I'm not assuming everybody has a case compatible with MagSafe. I'm assuming that someone on a subway with a dying phone would do the sensible thing & simply remove the case to allow the phone to charge, or use one of the four or five other available ways to charge it prior to it dying. A phone doesn't just suddenly die. It's something that you are well aware is coming long ahead of time. The phone quite literally gives you a countdown to it happening.
Apparently, removing your case to charge your dying phone for ten minutes during your ride, wasn't something you were willing to do for whatever reason. That was a personal choice which had some unfortunate consequences. Your case may not have been MagSafe, but your phone certainly was. You were not a victim in that situation. It was 100% self inflicted. A battery dying is something that is totally avoidable, yet people still continue to act as if there's nothing they can do.
I have no issue with people buying a Pro Max, I own one myself. If that phone gets you through the day, then great. What I have an issue with is this victim mentality people have when it comes to charging their phones. Every post I see regarding this topic, people make themselves sound completely helpless, as if there was absolutely nothing they could've done to prevent it. I just find it extremely bizarre. There are people who are even complaining about the Pro Max screen on time. If you are using your phone for eight hours each day, yet supposedly can't find fifteen minutes to charge it, then I'm sorry, that is laziness.
I don't keep a charger coiled in my pocket just in case, and I don't keep a MagSafe battery pack in my wallet either. Sure, those are options, that doesn't mean they are ideal for everyone. Never said I was a victim, either. Batteries die, it happens, and I get that. The 12 Pro was far better than my iPhones 4, 5, 6, and 7. All i'm saying is a significantly larger battery (max size) over the 12 Pro would have made it through that day and I wouldn't have had to do anything but carry the phone.
