It's part of the citizenship test. Rub the Lucky Looney. Sit in the simulated dressing room. Test your slapshot speed. Go now. We'll wait til you get back.

Spoken like a true Leafs fan.

Easy there, Captain Highliner...... :D

I remembered another place to eat: Harvey's. The best fast food burgers you will ever have. They actually grill them- using fire!- and you get to choose your choice of fresh toppings. A good quick meal. Their poutine is pretty good too.

And you can't mention Harvey's without mentioning Swiss Chalet.

And don't forget about Tim Horton's- there's one every half block. I think there's a Tim Horton's inside of a Tim Horton's somewhere in Canada.....

One last place- the Yonge and Eglinton area- lots of good restaurants and shops, and a good place to walk around.

Ewwww..... that place is awful. Steer clear of that tourist trap.
If you want good Italian try Mezzanotte (on Yonge between Finch and Sheppard), or Dimmi which is in Yorkville.

Are you suggesting I stick to my Gordon's Fishsticks?

Whichever has less trans-fat, of course. Your health is important to the survival of the Isles.:D

Harvey's is the best, I discovered them after moving back and there is no fast food place in the States that comes close, except Checkers fries oh how I miss Checkers Cajun fries.... :(

Haven't you heard? Jessica Alba bought the team, and hired a guru to turn them around. They'll win the cup in the last reel.

If you're in the vicinity of the Esplanade, check out the shops and Sunday Antique market of St. Lawrence Market. Or check out the activities and art shows at Harbourfront Centre.

What, is Harvey's Canadian only, like Smarties? Surely, you miss those, Surely.
The best burger is Dairy Queen, but the best fast food by far is Dixie Lee. Fried scallops to die for (and prematurely I shall). Sadly I've only seen those in the Maritimes.

Would be nice to watch her try. Hell, it's nice just to watch her.

Personally, I'd give the Ontario Science Centre a pass, as the exhibits are in most cases sadly out of date. It's great for my two young kids, and they had the Body Worlds exhibit a few years back, but other than that... meh.

It should be if it isn't.

Similarly, not all Canadian Hockey teams are good. :|

Oops, sorry for the thread highjack.

Anytime my thread is hijacked by hockey talk, I consider it an honor. :)

Defiantly go up the tower... even thou it's very touristy it's a great photo
opportunity and to walk across the glass floor at the top is awesome.

Maybe check to see if anyone is playing at the Molson Amphitheatre

I'm sure you'll have plenty to do and see now!

I am definitely going to have a blast in canada, and drink at some nice places! Of course I am a big fan of canadian beer so I should be set! Thanks everyone I will be sure to let you guys know what all I do there .

I'm the same way, but for different reasons.

I used to frequent the standing behind the Blues and the Greys, back in the golden 60's.

No more.

The talent pool has been diluted far beyond anything reasonable, just for the sake of greed. Certainly not because of the love of the game.

I think I died a little on the inside :(

Sorry you feel that way.

But had you been around during the Original 6 you might have a different view.

Alright guys so I am leaving this sunday morning, and I will be back wednesday afternoon (I know weird timing for a summer vacation). I have a lot of places written down to visit and I wanted to thank everyone again for all the help.

I have:

Queens Street
Bloor Street
Hockey Hall of Fame
Hemmingway's Bar

Any other last minute suggestions? I guess we are actually going to Niagara Falls, I know that place pretty well, but we will spend a day in Toronto. Is there any suggestions for a good place to have lunch/dinner in Toronto, that would be close to those things above?

It's Queen street, BTW.

If you are at Bay and Bloor, which is the Bloor street shopping area, you can go into Yorkville for sushi at the Sushi Inn. Good for lunch or dinner, very casual. Great spicy tuna roll. It's on the same street as Hemingway's, about half a block east.

If you are at the Eaton Centre, go one block north on Yonge street to Gould street, and go to the Salad King for the best damned green curry chicken in the world (It's a Thai place). Great for lunch or dinner, and it's super-casual.

Hockey Hall of Fame- in the same building there is a restaurant called Richtree, formerly Marche (Movenpick). It's a interesting kind of restaurant: There are a bunch of cooking-stations in the restaurant. You walk around and choose what you want, they make it to order, and you carry it on a tray to your table. Good quality food, great desserts. GOod for lunch and dinner, and has a nice ambiance to the place.

That should help. If you are more specific about where you'll be, I can offer more specifics.

Richtree sounds exactly like what my mom and dad will want. Thanks a lot surely I will let you guys know about what all I see and did when I get back!

No worries. Have fun.

Don't forget to go to Tim Horton's for a large double double and a honey cruller. You'll find one of those every 50 feet.

Are they doing Roll Up The Rim To Win right now?
