Over 'till next year.

I guess Mom & Dad would not appreciate Jeff Healey's Road House. ;) Hard by the Skydome/CN Tower.

Too bad, RUTRTW is awesome. I've been brewing Tim Horton's coffee here for the past couple of weeks- a visitor brought me a can!

Healey's is a cool place. Sad that he passed away this year.

Salad King is a must!

I eat there like 3 times a week

Green Curry Chicken, add eggplant, 4 chillies. Jumex Mango.

Solid.

thnx man we are all sitting in the living room right now and i am supposed to be looking for places to go right now, we really have no idea...i think we are just looking for a cottage or something.. thx tho

Nice pics..... I've eaten at both of those restaurants (Ginger 2 and Asian Legend). I used to live about 10 minutes walking from the Hockey Hall of Fame, in the St. Lawrence Market 'hood.

Glad you enjoyed my old hometown.....

Oh yeah I loved it, next is actually what your current location says now! I have yet to be west at all, and it seems like a good place for me, bigger city + warm!

I'll let you know when I venture past the mighty Mississippi.

LA is a great city- I've enjoyed living here so far. Let me know, I'll be happy to suggest some places to visit.

The downside of living here is the fact that the Kings are my new home team.
*sigh*

err Yikes, well Home is where the heart is and in that case, my heart will lie with the penguins. NHL network FTW.

I just hate PA, the cold weather, and ****** rural areas.

Not to hijack the thread, but I can easily make my 3 day weekend for Labor Day a 4 day weekend with the use of a personal day. I was thinking maybe driving up to Toronto, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it since due to driving, that would only leave me with Saturday and Sunday to do stuff. Is it worth it for what's basically a 2 day trip or should I wait until I have more time off?

The thread is all yours buddy, I really enjoyed it. Nice shopping, big city experience, great food.

It all depends on what you want to see/do and what you like.

Anything changed for tourists since 2008?

I'm thinking of going to Tononto in October.
Well the AGO is no longer under construction, and Salad King has moved across the street... That's about it. Since you are coming in October, I highly recommend a trip to the Falls (including Niagara-on-the-lake), a bike ride around Toronto Island, or walks around 'the beach'/Ashbridges park area.

Thanks. I'm collecting information on my list of possibilities.

Art Gallery of Ontario... check. Maybe the Royal Ontario Museum. And since I'm a geek, definitely the Ontario Science Centre, which was my favorite the last time I was in Toronto. Having four Apple Stores in one city will certainly make me feel right at home. :)

A Toronto Island bike ride certainly sounds more leisurely than the Haleakala bike ride I took last year. I'm not sure I'd take the time, however, since if I get to go to Toronto it'll be for only a few days with a lot to see. I could easily spend an entire day in the Science Centre alone. Earlier this year I managed to stay in the Natural History Museum in Washington DC from opening time to closing time. And then I went back the next day for more!

Salad King seems to be a web savvy business, and I like Thai food (my family and I went out for Thai food last night, in fact), so that's an easy call. I like variety, although I'm not sure what native Torontonian food is.

Is Casa Loma a tourist trap or good for getting a history lesson? I've taken tours of historic homes and some of them are better than others. Is it easy to get to? (Their map link is broken.)

I'd seriously consider going to The Second City for some non-serious entertainment, if others recommend it. Anybody been to one of their shows?

Do NOT miss the Salad King. You will love it. And if Second City is even half as good in Toronto as it is in Chicago, you're in for a very good time.

Did you 'ride' up, or just coast down at 1,000 miles per hour?

what native Torontonian food is.

That's been lost in Antiquity, but I would suggest Street Meat.

I don't think it's open for tours right now.

As a fellow Torontonian, I can assure you that no Toronto trip is complete without a trip to Zanzibar's.

Ah yes, wild Yonge Street bar scene. My old stomping grounds.

Wonder if they still have that beauty old B-3 with Leslie?

The latter. But I passed riders who bike up, then turn around and come back down. That must take incredible strength and endurance.

The ride, the fresh air, the scenery, and a welcome lack of automobile traffic were a great combination.
